No.
The way I'd describe it, most would prefer politics be left out of sports, entertainment, non-political media, and even our corporate communications.
But of course, it's obviously ubiquitous and overwhelmingly leftist these days. Oftentimes, the narratives leave facts and logic behind, and the media and those in power attempt to pit us peasants against each other, especially by race.
Any time there is a point made against this groupthink and divisive propaganda, whether it originates from a conservative, or a politically neutral person like Sir Charles, it is novel. It is also refreshing to those who are constantly demonized and forced to hear the ceaseless opinions of people spreading leftist views that they disagree with, in arenas that do not warrant politicization.
You may not care about the propaganda because you are sympathetic to the views expressed. And you are able to cherrypick "hypocrisy" from people who, if given a choice, would prefer to have zero political and "social justice" issues discussed in their sports. But that is the context I'd give around the response by many on here. I hope this helps.

Do you know what a boomer is, or have you just heard the expression "OK, boomer" and made an assumption? I ask because asserting that this is a boomer generation issue is pretty confusing.

I watched Barkley yesterday and I was cheering for him. I was also waiting for CBS to cut immediately to a station break. Someone in control central was shitting their pants when Barkley was telling the truth.

Classic.
Only one side wants to take away the franchise from minorities because they lost an election.

Some white folks in here pissed off at a black man speaking his mind. White liberals don't like black people speaking for themselves.

Liberals view black people as their pets. That’s why they fight so hard to hand feed them, lower the bar for them, and not hold them accountable for their actions. Liberals view them the same way a functional adult might view a small child or a golden retriever

While Chuck does make some good points and should be applauded for confronting the issue from a different angle than the sheep mob, in reality it’s the left and the woke progressives who keep racism alive and front and center.
The demand for racism from the left is far greater than the supply.

He’s spot on, but I do miss when politics and sports were completely decoupled
I'm 59 years old. I don't recall that time. I've seen old reels of Jesse Owens with discussions of the geo political implications of his victories at the 1936 Olympics in Munich Olympics.
I will leave you with this image from the 1968 Olympics
How old are you exactly?

To be honest, nobody really gives a damn about what Barkley said enough to be pissed off. It just gave some of you lames a hard-on.

You seem extremely pissed off about his comments, calm down.

Another ignorant generalization from a member of the most ignorant group of human beings to ever inhabit this planet.

Comments like this is what you get from simple and ignorant minds who swallow propaganda hook line and sinker.

And? What he said was a completely false accusation about the individual and an ignorant generalization about a made up group of people. There are a lot of morons who love to use the boomer smear without any knowledge of who they’re attacking, it doesn’t mean they’re all liberals. Besides most actual liberals don’t agree with the fascism coursing throughout the media and tech platforms.

I Had no clue this would turn into a shite show. I understand everyone has their own views, but I won’t tolerate racism by “anyone”. We are shaped by our roots and backgrounds but at the end of the day, whatever some sleazy politician promises or does will not make me hate someone. It’s like a fricking chess game. Maybe I’m a dreamer or live in a fantasy world but being from Louisiana and interacting with so many people from different facets of life whether it’s religious, political or even simply sports makes me appreciate life. You can learn a thing or two from anyone and I hold those relationships dear because in the end, you’ll never know who you will need or who will need you. I think that’s what being American is and should be about.
