billion dollar Corp doesn't have an adequate training program for the refs

How many officials have left the NFL in the past 5 years? I also think a billion dollar corporation would try harder to keep the good officials.

Step 4: Add a group made up of NO former officials or players that can review calls in real time and buzz down to change them, a real Eye in the Sky official

oh hell no, i had to fix that for you

that way they have no bias or desire to protect the refs reputations or image

a group of women you pull out the beauty salon can judge plays based on the rules better then those so called ex players and officials who dont follow their own rules

How does the FFB bubble pop exactly?

People stop playing? Anecdotal I know, but people say they only watch the games all the time because they "have a player".

I just fail to see how it’s some unsustainable bubble that simply has to pop. It could level off or stagnate a bit, but don’t see how it suddenly bursts and people quit playing in droves. It’s ease is what makes it so appealing to casual viewers

Now daily fantasy? I can see that popping as players realize they’re playing a losing game to sharks, but those sites seem prepared for that as they’re positioning themselves for sports gambling

Plus the quality of officiating continues to decline because of what’s happening at the lower levels across all sports.

99.9% of these guys start out officiating HS where 20+ years ago they were paid well and had the respect of the coaches and fans. That kept them interested and in the mix.

Now you’re in your second year officiating a 2A JV game that you left work early for to make $45 and getting followed to your car and cursed at...sucks for retention. The good guys who don’t need the money stop because the harassment isn’t worth their time.

In short. “Travel ball parents” ruined the officiating ranks...

You are absolutely right. In Texas there is a massive shortage of football refs right now to the point that there are more refs over the age of 60 than under the age of 30 and the average age is in the mid 50s. The top two reasons given for why they are struggling to keep young refs are the lack of decent pay and the abuse from parents.

There is little doubt, he said, that "there has been a decrease in the skill level of officiating."

YA THINK????? Too bad it’s too late. The NFL can screw itself.

Step 1: Fire Al Riveron
x10000. This guy was a garbage official and is predictably an absolute disaster in his current role. You can always count on the NFL to hire the worst possible candidate or make the worst possible decision. Riveron is so on brand for the Roger regime.

What I sugest referees should also be watching on TV. Hire some referees to watch on TV. Just like everyone else does. That will help a lot! They can press a button to signal a penalty. Then it will be checked with the upstairs to see what the penalty is. Go for an extra referee for TV. alone that will catch any missed calls from field referees?

the problem isn’t missing calls, it’s too many calls
