Texas has to play a first round game because they lost, UGA doesn't. If there were no auto byes for conference champs then the game would have been pointless, outside of who is #2 and who is #3. I'm not hard set on the auto bye for power 4 conferences +1 other conference, like it is now. It didn't work great this year but I don' think we should judge it on one year.

With SOS you can’t justify Boise and ASU being seeded ahead of 5 through 9. Let them in and seed them accordingly.

The bowl sites are going to be half full for some of the quarter final and semi final games

A Oregon vs OSU or UTk Rose bowl will be a sell out. Boise travels, ND vs UGA Sugar will sell out. The only one I would worry about is the Peach if Texas beats Clemson. Will they want to make another trip to Atlanta to play ASU.

I love how Saban was complaining maybe Alabama shouldn’t have such a Tough schedule in the future and started naming trash arse teams like Florida state and Wisconsin as tough opponents

Why is hanging with Clemson something to be proud of?? I’m not a bama fan but should the ACC get 2 teams in?

Agree completely. I loathe Bama and take pleasure in their pain, but putting SMU in ahead of them is stupid.

I honestly believe the OU loss hurt Bama more than the Georgia win.

The BIG getting those home cold weather games is a huge advantage. ND and IU both used to it.

Is it SMU’s fault they didn’t help form the SEC or were ever asked to join?

No, no, no….my point is if you play in the SEC you shouldn’t schedule any tough OOC opponents. There is no incentive. I think the days of big OOC regular season games are over. Once the already scheduled ones run their course you won’t see anymore Home and Home or neutral site games.

one of the things I agreed with Saban on is that conference games should go up to 10 especially with 14 to 16 teams in the power 4. It will help have more of a balanced schedule.

Which is perfectly fine

It’s wild that everyone just keeps talking about “good wins” for bama vs SMU while absolutely ignoring bamas horrid losses lol

The absolute melt if somehow Texas vs Georgia part 3 makes the championship game

The even more incredible melt if Texas goes 1-2 vs Georgia and wins the championship

like most sports you’re judged more on how you played later in the year

Losing to two shitty conference teams is what did Alabama in and they didn’t have any tough OOC games either

The best way to fix this mess is simple

Every team that makes a CCG is in that’s 20 teams

4 at large

Don’t have a weekly reveal just seed it like the NCAA tournament

Play 8 first round games @home sites then use bowls for the 15 other games

Oh this never will work except it does in EVERY level of NCAA Football

CCG will determine byes, it will also determine travel etc

But that’s too simple and people will whine conference strength etc

Remember you DONT have to be in a conference
