Bine headed kick off not going into endzone cost SMU the title game. They had the momentum.

you need to reward a conference champ, giving them a bye is a good decision IMO. Maybe reseed everyone else but conference champs need to mean something

Why? Do they do that in the NCAA tourney?

If it was like pros then you would play most of the other teams, but that’s not the case

nick needs to shut up, he is clearly a bama homer and trying to argue the 12 teams are wrong.

Man, Nick is mad.

Keeps harping on that SOS. Do we not factor in terrible losses?

It does it means you are in. It shouldn’t automatically get you a bye.

Saban Herbie and Joey are missing one huge thing in regarding conferences

Your school CHOOSES to be in that conference. There’s a path now to go to playoff without being in SEC

I hate Alabama and not making excuses for them. When you lose three games you can’t complain BUT SOS and OOC schedule doesn’t matter.

The problem is we're using a committee to make these decisions. In the previous years they supposedly used the "best team on a neutral field" criteria and threw out results. I thought that was stupid af but if that''s your criteria then Bama is probably in. So, is it just dealer's choice every year what the criteria is?

they get auto bids.

To me if you have two SEC teams playing each other that will both get byes why even play the conference championship?

If we have conference championships give the top 4 conference champs byes, if you get rid of the conference championships which I think would be preferable than give best record in conference (big 4 only) auto bid and rank the best 12.

I'm not even mad. This Milroe led Bama team would get smoked by Penn State in Happy Valley. Really looking for to Tennessee vs Ohio State. That's gonna be a great football game

There were rarely 4 worthy teams. There sure as shite aren’t 12

2 with the BCS was by far the most fun as you could at least usually argue 3rds case.

Probably aren't 64 worthy teams for March Madness either, but it doesn't mean we should cancel the tournament. Same for baseball.

I'll never understand this board's obsession with bitching about more quality football matchups.

Also, we don't know what would happen with more than 2-4 teams, because it's never happened.

12 team is exciting. Gets great matchups we won't normally get to see.
