CFB Commissioners discussed growing the playoff field to 14 teams

There's not 14 teams that can win it all. Never has been, even when we just had the vote...especially now with a few programs dominating the NIL collectives.

They just want to guarantee that certain teams make it every year. Cut it to 8 and make the top 4-5 conference champs.

Keep it at 12, give all the other teams a participation trophy for their trophy case plus orange slices and a juice box for each player. That should calm folks down.

People don’t give a shite about bowl games anymore, might as well follow all the other major sports and just have a giant playoffs at the end of the year

Even tho this is true, I still think byes are stupid in a cfb playoff.
We're gonna have 5 conference champs in, 4 get a bye, 1 will have to play an extra game and risk injury based on the infallible "eye test"

12 is already too many. Should’ve been 8 with 5 conference champs and 3 at-large
The only logical argument in favor of expanding the playoffs at this point is that it probably curbs the trend of players opting out of meaningless bowl games. The 4th and 5th best SEC and B1G teams don’t deserve playoff spots

We’re rapidly approaching a situation where there are just two conferences - if we ain’t there already - so more auto bids is a crap idea.
