Having polls before the 2nd or 3rd week of the season is moronic. These preseason polls absolutely affect the outcome of the standings come season's end.

Moving it to the second or third (or fourth) week really won't make much difference. Really, it's going to have to be at least the seventh week or so for preseason biases to not have any impact, and even that might be too soon. Personally, I enjoy the polls and discussion.

Dunno, think he's right this time. I hate ucla and I'm an SC fan but I think they'll lose a couple of games in conference and be knocked out of contention for a playoff spot. If USC is healthy when it's time to play ucla, Trojans win.

Your hatred is fogging your mind. UCLA is a legit NC contender. Look at the team. Young and hungry with plenty of depth. The problem with USC fans is they don't want to have to be 2nd fiddle to UCLA in the big city.

It's amazing how UNC is constantly ranked in preseason polls despite not having done dick since Mack Brown left.

Apparently you can miss your conferences' championship game, lose your bowl game, lose your starting quarterback, and still be ranked #2 above the team that beat you in the bowl and kept their quarterback.
