Mark Jackson didn't make it to the finals and lose in game 6, while 2 of his starters who were All Stars were on IR.
But GS had improved massively over the course of his tenure and was still trending up.
Obviously it was the right move, but the players loved him and they were improving every year under Jackson.

Read Cleveland players were told they were having a team meeting, they all thought K Love was being traded. Goes to show the chemistry in that locker room

Lebron is so racist that he publicly stood up for Delly when he was getting blasted in the media last season.

Tyron Lue, the man who held Sixers star Allen Iverson, "PRACTICE"? by the arm, thus preventing the Sixers from defeating the Lakers.
The ref should not have been allowed to ever step foot in an NBA arena after that. They say Lue is a defensive expert. B.S. holding the arm or the pants of a faster player.
Saints preserve us.
I got to see this.

This is just a typical Cleveland sports franchise knee jerk move. They had a coach that in most peoples opinion did a fantastic job at the end of last year. Dealing with injuries and getting big minutes out of role players. This year they were first in the East and had only lost 11 games. This, with Kyrie missing pretty much the entire first half of the season. Then they fire the guy. Not to hire Phil Jackson or some other big name coach, but Tyronn Lue.

Sounds like it worked.

So that's evidence that LeBron is racist and would rather lose with a black coach than win with a white coach?

Serious question here, can we realistically see Lue guide the Cavs to an NBA title?

Now I could see them trying to trade these guys to SAC for Cousins....

But I believe it was Lue who stopped Blatt from pulling a Chris Webber and calling an illegal timeout at the end of a playoff game last year. So that's a good sign.

Yep, it amazing that people have forgotten what would have been a major error by Blatt during the playoff series against the Bulls.
Blatt almost blows game with timeout call (no timeouts available)
Blatt has been in over his head for awhile now.
quote:
Cleveland's first-year coach -- don't call him a rookie -- acknowledged two mistakes in the closing moments of Game 4 on Sunday, when he tried calling a timeout he didn't have and then initially designed an inbounds play that had LeBron James passing the ball in with 1.5 seconds left.
Luckily for Blatt, assistant Tyronn Lue grabbed him and pulled him off the floor and three officials missed his attempt to call time, and James overruled the play call before hitting a jumper at the buzzer to give the Cavs an 86-84 win to tie this intense Eastern Conference semifinal series at 2-2.
"Good thing I had great guys behind me to bail me out," said Blatt, who couldn't remember ever losing track of timeouts. "And then a great player to bail us all out with a terrific shot."

quote:Yeah. Imagine if he made that call and the Cavs went down 3-2 and lost the series.

Although unfair, there is chance Blatt would have never had a chance to be a head coach in the NBA again, at the very least not for a very long time.

I hate to be the one to say it but, I live about 30 miles south of cleveland and it seems to me Lebron wanted a black coach. I think Lebron/his handlers are big time racist. It also explains why he does not get along with K Love at all.
I live very close to Akron and I don't believe this for a second. He felt Love showed up out of shape last season and wasn't really happy about it. That stuff has gone away and they seem to be getting along just fine now.
Spoelstra isn't black and we never heard a peep about LeBron wanting him out.

Woj coming in hot: LINK
:insertfireemoji:

From the beginning, the Klutch Sports campaign to puncture Blatt's standing as head coach had been as relentless as it was ruthless. James is one of the great leaders in pro sports, and he directed the Cavaliers how he wanted them: in complete defiance of Blatt.
quote:
Ultimately, Blatt had little staying power with the Cavaliers, because James had turned Blatt's removal into an inevitability. As the games wore on, opposing players on the floor weren't only watching James constantly wave off plays from the coach – but role players feeling emboldened to disregard the head coach's instructions, too.
quote:
So here's what's coming now: the trickle of stories on Blatt's incompetence, the fact that no one respected him, and maybe most of all, that James had nothing to do with his firing. For all the fairytales sold on James' return to Cleveland, this was forever about business – the kind of business they couldn't do within Riley's organization, nor Erik Spoelstra's locker room.

Gives me newfound respect for Riley and spoelstra.
