Whenever you begin the count for the cavs gaining possession. Not that confusing.

The count begins when the shot clock resets.

When the Cleveland dude was on the ground with the ball in his hands, it reset to 24, because the Cavs had the ball.

The refs don't physically count. If the shot clock gets to 16 before the team crosses half-court, it's a turnover.

You are confused.

LBJ fans saying it was a fast 8 or it was only 6

He wasn't even going to cross for another 2 seconds, it was a violation either way. Why aren't you up and arms about Delly kicking the ball?

Just rewound it.

The shot clock continued and did not reset when the Cavs lost possession on an initial rebound and regained it.

YYeh, thats an incredibly costly time to blow a call. Costs 2 possessions as opposed to 1 for a normal blown call. I blame the coach. That can get overturned if he has his head in the game and complains.

It started about a second early. It started when the ball hit the rim. Honestly don't know that rule. Is the clock auto restarted right when it hits, and then refs should start counting the 8 second when possession is controlled or what?
The clock resets when the ball hits the rim.

But it doesn't start again until one team gets possession of the ball.

The refs look at the shot clock to determine if they get the ball across in 8 seconds. If the shot clock goes down to 16 seconds and they have not crossed half court, then they blow the whistle and call 8 seconds.

I'm pretty sure it didn't. It was already counting and at 22.

LBJ is having an all-time series but that last 16 FG graphic says he's gonna be tired come the 4th. Kerr has to make LBJ work hard, keep doubling him and make him work overtime. GS will pull away mid 3rd if they can hits their shots. This is a good game though, these refs are pretty bad though.

Terrible call on backcourt. Costly call there. How to the Cleveland bench not tell refs or something. That's bad bad bad he crossed in 7 seconds easy

Yes it does. When the shot hits the rim, the clock is reset to 24. But they don't start it again until someone gains possession.

It doesn't start from the moment it hits the rim.

Just hit rewind, the clock reset to 24 right after Curry's shot hit off the rim like it is supposed to do and James crossed with 15 seconds left. Seems pretty cut and dry.
