Nope, all players remain eligible. Which indicates no evidence of illegal benefits. That would certainly have made players ineligible. Seems like the evidence the LHSAA has relates more to the administration of an illegal scouting program to contact kids about playing football at CHS.

Then why vacate two titles?

And really... if they aren't getting improper benefits... what's the big deal about "recruiting"?

I agree, I think its stupid if they arent getting improper benefits because every other CHS student is recruited for academic reasons. I think the reason for the heavy hand on the LHSAA is because of how systematic and deliberate they were. It was more than just a suggestion or a conversations. Coaches had been assigned specific kids to watch play and then talk to.

I was wondering how the LHSAA planned to collect ~300 rings. Looks like there isn’t a plan.

Dunham and Episcopal are both better schools than CHS and do not do this to my knowledge.

Is this a joke? I can give Episcopal some credit but Dunham? Get outta here with that foolishness. Blue Ribbons, National Merit winners, scholarship $$$ per grad, etc. Dunham is a 2nd tier school at an inflated tuition.

Care to list one source? I understand you probably went there and really liked it, but Niche ranks it fourth best private school in Baton Rouge behind, you guessed it, EHS and Dunham.

1. Episcopal
2. Dunham
3. SJA
4. CHS
5. BR International School

What about the coaches, players, fans, community, fellow students who have shown up to games to support these teams for years, only to lose in the Championship to a team that has "selectively chosen" its players so they could give these "poor kids a chance in life?" The coaches and the players aren't the only ones who invest time in the football season. That moment when a team finally reaches the ultimate goal, a championship......that's a moment that can't be given back to C.E. Byrd or Curtis. They don't get to celebrate.....but Catholic did. They had that moment while the teams that weren't cheating got to enjoy one of the most crushing moments of their high school sports career. Catholic does(and will continue) to do what it feels is best for Catholic. Yet, they hide behind the "we are trying to give kids in tough situations a chance." BS. Let's be honest.....they care when it benefits them......when it doesn't they will find a way to manipulate the situation....not just in sports. Catholic is a brand. If you "embarrass" them, they will drop you like a bad habit and do what they can to shame you. Guice......yeah, they wanted to keep him because they needed to make sure when he got to LSU and Game Day rolled around that they were properly recognized on national television. Haven't heard them "claim" him much lately. Watch how often they associate themselves with "regular" people. Not often.
Watch who's asses admin and fundraising are kissing. Funny to hear what is said by these same people about the butts they are kissing when they aren't around. It's quite comical really. Sad, but kinda like watching the Catholic High Holier Than Thou version of Desperate House Wives of Baton Rouge. The best is watching them "pal around" like they like each other. So many of these guys can't stand each other but they are bound by the institution/cult.

Catholic interprets both the rules of LHSAA (and the Bible) for their benefit. One way they would get around it was by having people who were not employed at Catholic to give the phone number of a Catholic Faculty member. You see, if the parent contacts the school first, well then "that's not recruiting." BS I wonder if that info was in the binder too? Or maybe there was a completely separate binder for friends/spouses/family of faculty members.......????

There are some great guys that have come out of Catholic. I know a good bit of them. But the ones that are "representing" this school right now are some of the most hypocritical jerks I've had the pleasure of being around. It's a shame that one of the biggest lessons these leaders show is how to work a system in your favor because you are "better" than others because of your affiliation to this school. Come on guys. If you are gonna try to pull off the choir boy role, get some more realistic leaders/faces for that role.

And anyone else notice the trend of strange movements of "important people" or "important positions" without any explanation or any real reason? Eventually things become clear. Movement in admin......watch what happens. Fertitta wins Championships and suddenly leaves? Suddenly AD is out even though we all know that was the position he was dying for? If you give it time, it all eventually pans out and makes sense.

They volunteered for the select division without selectively chosen players?

I’m shocked Catholic didn’t interpret the rules to someone else’s benefit. The problem is the rules have to be interpreted.

They thought they were playing an honest team.....shame on them. Should've known better with Catholic. Well now they know. Don't trust Catholic.

It’s high school football. Care about how Catholic gets so many 36 ACT guys and then I’ll listen to the whining about how good they are at football too.

ain’t nobody crying for J.T.

Haven’t mentioned it yet, but Fertitta went to Holy Cross. That makes him a Holy Cross man.

Okay let’s calm down. Again Catholic broke the rules. But they didn’t pay the refs or deflate the footballs. All they did was find kids that are good at football and ask that they come play for them. They won on the field, both teams playing 15-18 year olds
