Canelo vs GGG III - Fight Thread

Canelo Alvarez defends the undisputed super middleweight championship against Gennadiy Golovkin at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (DAZN PPV, 8 p.m. ET). (SATURDAY)
The time is finally here for the end of the trilogy.
This time for all the belts at 168, a weight in which GGG has never competed at.
Will Canelo dominate while GGG shows his age?
Or can GGG turn back the clock and finally get redemption for how wrong he has been in the history of this matchup?
Canelo's Resume
32 years of age
5'8
57-2-2 (39 KO)
GGG's Resume
40 years of age
5'10
42-1-1 (37 KO)
The first fight ended in a controversial draw in which many believed GGG had won, and the second ended in a split decision victory for Canelo. The second could have gone either way.
Who yall got?

A lot of people predicting a Canelo knockout.... but GGG still has never touched the canvas in his long career. Not sure what the play would be betting here, but I would imagine a sprinkle on GGG win by TKO would be decent.

I have never been able to get behind Canelo. I like GGG, but he's a good bit older and past his prime IMO. I would like for him to win, but I think Canelo probably comes out with a win.

Canelo with a TKO in the 10 round

Canelo by unanimous decision imo
GGG's activeness within the fight will lose him this fight, I thought Canelo was the aggressor and set the agenda in that second fight

At 168 LBS...I will take Canelo by KO...and I thought GGG won both of the other fights.
I just think Alverez is too strong at 168.

Big GGG fan here but he’s 40 fighting a 32 year old. Canelo looked like garbage in his last fight but I still will take him to win this one. Unanimous decision or TKO in later rounds.

I want GGG but 40 is 40.

A lot of Canelo TKO predictions here. Really hope we don’t see that… would be sad to see GGG go out like that.
Update weight in done.
Both fighters look ready.

GGG has never been down, much less out. Those predicting a Canelo KO is laughable.
GGG didn't look great in his last fight but Canelo flat out looked like shite.
Also, those crowing about Canelo being stronger at 168 are totally glossing over the fact the one of the most devastating punchers in middleweight history will also be stronger at 168.
Bivol did a masterful job of negating Canelo's aggression with a solid jab right in the center of his face. GGG also has a very stiff jab.
I also have never been able to get behind Canelo due to the fact that he's obviously a media and judges darling.
I just hope it's a good clean fight with no frickery from the judges. Both fighters are ATGs
Give me GGG by split decision.

I’ll say Canelo simply because GGG is 40.

Canelo, only cause he is back on the tainted beef again.

Ggg wins but the judges give it to canelo

I want to say GGG because I'm a huge fan. Supposedly those from within his camp has said he is looking great and jacked. Also 40 isn't what 40 used to be. Like someone else said, history shows he can walk through punches. If he stays active with the jab like the first fight, he can win if he avoids the big shot.
But my gut says Canelo is 8 years younger and powerful. On the other hand, he looked bad the last time out - and we've seen him get shots on GGG in the last 2 fights and GGG never seemed too phased.

I've got Canelo in this fight. Not only because he's 8 years younger, but Canelo is a great body puncher.
In his fight with Murata, GGG got hit a lot to the body and Canelo just LOVES to hit opponents in the body and does so with lots of power. Combine hard body shots to a 40 yr. old body and things don't look so good for GGG.
I say KO sometime after 8 for Canelo.
Oh, and in a similar thread several months ago I put up a ban bet against another poster, but can't for the life of me remember who it was. If memory serves me, it was for a 6 month ban. If you're out there and remember the bet, let me know, I'm still game.

Still game? I'm up for it if you are because I wasn't going to start digging to try to find the original thread.
Either way, I'm good.

Like your style. May the best man win the fight tonight.
I promise, I'll honor the bet if Canelo doesn't stop GGG before the final bell as that is how I remember the bet going down.
