Unless they're playing the Patriots they'd have the coaching advantage.
Still would lose though
Still would lose though

This entire thread is full of retarded.
Saban couldn't hang with NFL teams with a roster full of NFL players at the dolphins. And he wasn't exactly the 2nd Best coach behind the pats coach at that time. Saban is a great college coach and it stops there.

+1 Truly ridiculous that people believe that.

Posted by mizzoubuckeyeiowa on 10/15/16 at 7:32 pm to Street Hawk They lost to Ohio State they year before in the playoffs and they needed an onside kick to beat Clemson last year in the Championship game. That's not exactly so much better than EVERYONE else.
And ole miss this year. People need to pump the brakes. Tennessee has been living on the edge and is really just average and the sec as a whole isn't great. Bama will be tested in the playoff.

Serious question to you and the people that actually upvoted you: are you guys retarded?
You actually think a college team could beat a fricking NFL team?
Lmao

What's you wrong with you people? The '08 0-16 Lions team would demolish this Bama team 70-0 if they wanted to.

i don't think bama could hang with a real nfl team. but i think they could give the browns a legit run for their money.

Bama would get absolutely shite on by the crappiest NFL teams.
eta: not a diss at how great Bama is under Saban and such.
The Browns would somehow find a way to lose to them, because they are the Browns.

They make College Football soooo boring
its mainly boring to me because of the Alabama fatigue.
has been for a few years now.. doesn't matter if they fell short a few times (Auburn 2013) and Ohio St in the playoff in New Orleans. They are going to be in the mix no matter what it seems like.
no other team in the SEC has a backbone, especially in the East. At least there is a chance for shake up and a different rep this year with Tennessee. They haven't been in almost 10 years. Florida-Alabama again would be a puke fest.

It has to be reiterated.
The last college all-star game was 24-0 in a driving rainstorm called in the 3td quarter when college and pros weren't as separated as today.
As someone rightfully said, the LOS decimates.
If Bama was winning Natty's 70-0 over Everyone that might mean something but they never have. Even if they did they weren't besting all star teanms. They barely won to beat a head case team in Clemson and lost to a 3rd string tOSU QB.
2001 Miami or 2003-2004 USC or 2008 Florida or wouldn't stand a chance and they won titles far more impressively.

also held on to beat a Texas squad minus Colt McCoy in that one championship game. If McCoy doesn't get hurt in that game I'm thinking the final is way closer than 37-21. Texas even cut a 24-6 lead down to 24-21 at one point but then ran out of gas.
alabama did have one of the ultimate games on defense against lsu in the bcs championship one year but some of that's on lsu. Looked like Lsu had no in depth preparation for that game. No new wrinkles.. no adjustments.. played flat.
Alabama-Notre Dame was another clunker the following year. Alabama was up 4 TD's at the half but the game had way better ratings than the year before with AL-LSU.
i remember how much running room Eddie Lacy had against Notre Dame and at times it did kind of look unfair. If there was a year when people tried to make a dumb argument that Alabama could beat a pro team I think it was this one. Seems like a thread like that would happen every other week back then.

Alabama has probably 25 pro prospects on their roster. The Browns have 53 NFL players
Posted on 10/16/16 at 7:54 am to VADawg
I saw 5 or 6 plates yesterday when Tenn had Hurts confused and he got sacked. This would happen every play against the Browns. The Bama offensive line would not be able to countinue by halftime. It would be a slaughter.

Some people have no concept of the LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. the college team would get destroyed there, the rest doesn't really matter
A lot of people don't understand what the OP was getting at.
He was trying to say they are way better than everybody else. He could have said they should go to the CFL but that wouldn't be as dramatic a statement, which is all he was doing.
Y'all should argue about them competing in the CFL.
They couldn't compete in the NFL but there aren't 10 r 12 teams of guys who couldn't compete in the NFL who could beat them regularly. I would bet they could be .500 in the CFL.

25 pro prospects
Prospects? Closer to 50. Actual draft picks? 25 is probably correct.
For example, the 2010 team only had 1 player on the 2 deep who didnt get at least a shot in fall camp. That team lost 3 games.
This team might be Saban's most talented roster. Might.
Tim Williams
Humphrey
Jonathan Allen
Eddie Jackson
Reuben Foster
Calvin Ridley
OJ Howard
Camrob
Those 8 players might all be 1st rounder in next year's draft. With Jackson and Ridley being the least likely. That's not even counting freshmen and sophomores with the potential to develop, or juniors like DeShawn Hand. Who turned enough heads against Clemson last year to have his name thrown out by talent evaluators as a potential first rounder.
All of that being said.
The Browns would beat this team like a drum. They led the league in rushing before last Sunday. Bama has first and second round prospects at every spot on the DL and LB, and it wouldn't matter. They would go up and down the field like a hot knife through warm butter.

Not sure how they'll perform, but more than 50% of Alabama's starters are NFL talent. Who on the defense isn't NFL talent? Maybe 1 guy
