It might sound strange, but Philly is a different team now. Its a bigger, deeper team than last year and they took the Celtics to the limit then. Who can match their frontcourt (Bynum, Hawes, Moultrie, Brown and Allen)? Nobody in the East...
sure bynum is the next best center to dwight arguably. 3rd best for sure. no doubt it will boost philly. they also lost williams in the backcourt.
hawes? puhleeze. he had a ok year but he scares nobody.
lavoy allen? bwahahahahhahahahahah what a force
brown? again scares nobody.
Moultrie? we will see what he does. it is his first year he could make a huge impact and then maybe not. who knows with rooks?
they have some depth though no doubt there.

the C's got lazy and lackadaisical once they went up in the series. the sixers did not outplay( i did not say win) boston in 4 straight like boston did with the heat(games 2 through 5). that is the difference in those two 7 game series.
philly could definitely be better than 8th this year. they might be top 4.

Well for one only one of those guys can score with any kind of consistency, and 2 who of those guys can guard Lebron when the Heat play small?

Losing Iggy and getting Bynum is going to slow down LeBron how? Also how do the defending champions get worse by keeping the team intact and gain Ray Allen...

I have seen alot of talk of Thad Young moving to PF, especially since they added Nick Young and Wright. This would move Hawes to the bench though or put into a rotation. So I would guess Thad Young would guard Lebron and he would get killed, just like anyone else that guards Lebron. So I'm not sure that makes a big difference. But that puts Bosh on Bynum and that is a pretty bad mismatch as well, so maybe that kind of balances out... Like I said Miami is the best team, I just don't see them killing themselves to get a great record...

That's the thing, they won't have to.

I agree that it really doesnt matter who you put on LeBron because hes going to kill them. But saying that Bosh on Bynum levels that out is crazy. LeBron is a much bigger offensive threat than Bynum will ever be. With Bynum forced to guard Bosh it will be just like the ECF were when Bosh came back. Forcing the bigs to spread out since he can hit the open shot, thus opening the lane for LeBron/Wade to do their thing. Yes Bynum will have his way with Bosh, but that wont come close to canceling out what Bosh brings on the offensive end to help LeBron. Miami wont need to kill themselves, they didnt last year and look what happened. They know as long as they play their style of game they will be either the 1 or 2 seed(most likely 1 with Rose out) and once theyre in the playoffs they can go all out.

Miami has been very consistent the past 2 seasons in the regular season. 58 wins (around a 70% winning percentage each season.
Does anyone really think the Sixers are a 60 win team? They won 41 last year. Is Bynum + scrubs - Iggy worth 18-20 wins?
Is there any other team in the East capable of winning 60 games besides MIA?

they didn't.
Miami got better
Boston got better
Philly got better
it will come down to who gets it done in the playoffs yet again cut and dry.

OP seems like the only one, that's some serious Philly kool aid that I won't go near. I think Wright, Richardson, and Young are solid additions for the Sixers current roster, Philly desperately needed shooting and Bynum should get them open looks. If Holiday, Turner, and Thad Young all improve I could see adding 6-8 wins and getting just under 50.

No way. Indy would be the closest thing if they made a giant leap, but I don't see that happening.

Garnett, Pierce, and JET are 36, 34, and 34 respectively

The bulls even without rose are a top 5 team
Bulls lost a lot more than Rose, there bench is a lot weaker this year..I see Indy being better than them.

bottom line is the sixers are not going from 8th seed to 1st. ain't happenin' captain.

Thanks for making that clear.

Hell the Bulls may end up getting the best record in the east again, doesn't mean they'll win it all. I personally believe their run is over, especially with the power shifts we've seen lately.
I think the Magic are rebuilding and will definitely be a lottery team.
