It made sense to me when four different teams won a title in a row from 2007 to 2010. There was a point where the SEC's run was distributed evenly enough across the conference that the end result was to elevate the entire brand, which helped everybody, as opposed to elevating one specific team or two specific teams above everyone else.
Then Alabama monopolized it
and it's not made sense for a decade or more.

We all have more in common with other SEC schools than most other conferences.
I won’t take it to the point of conferences being like a family and you don’t allow others to mess with family, but to a lot of fans, I think they feel that way.

Agree. No one in the SEC will be pulling for LSU in the bowl but LSU fans. Why should we pull for the other guys, except maybe Missouri over Ohio State.
