Brandon Roy was flat out the truth its sad what happened with his knees, he was the next big thing in the league probably right there with durant and melo as the superstar right behind lebron. He just did it all while being so efficient. Brandon Roy could have been a hall of famer
Oh my

That was a reverse Isiah Thomas joke.
...and what's the obsession with his freshman college year?
The OP was talking about his Pro record.

You don't get it because you never saw him play?
Chris Jackson is probably the best player I've seen come out of LSU (exception of Shaq). Obviously, I didn't see Pete play but CJ was a perfectionist. He could not leave the gym at night unless the net made a certain sound. Yea, the dude had turrets and was OCD at the same time. Unstoppable, nobody could guard him. He could shoot, dribble and pass. His release was so quick it was amazing.
It was sad seeing his disease and eventual influence of Islam take over Chris Jackson. I couldn't believe how he could turn his back to the flag and denounce his country. The whole country hated him for it and nobody really wanted him on their team as he dieted and lost weight and eventually interest in the game. It was sad they burnt his house down in Mississippi but what you expect?

Kenny Anderson was like that as a freshman too, not the shooting but he had a unique package of skills.

I'm trying to wrap my head around how LSU had Chris Jackson, Stanley Roberts, and some guy named Shaq on the same team, and couldn't win anything

Man, how quickly people forget just how good TMac was.

I used to practice dribbling between the legs/pull up jumper move in my driveway. It usually took me two hours longer than it took CJ.
There was just no one to compare him to in college. No one will ever have his numbers again.

Is this where we start bashing Dale Brown?

He's still got it!
There was a video on the Rant like 6 months ago or so that was recent of him (at 40-whatever years old) in the gym shooting jumpshots, and he made something ridiculous like 105 of 108 shots. He basically shot jumpshots nonstop for like 6 straight minutes and missed 2 or 3. It was almost mesmorizing to watch.

He is unreal, what a talent. He was a very good NBA player, career should of been longer.

CJ = once in a lifetime college talent. Even though high school players have to do at least 1 year of college ball, we'll never see a freshman like that again.

Just saw a piece on nba tv where chris webber, bill walton, and some others called him the greatest could've been in league history.
Those two guys are bigger could've been players than CJ. I am surprised nobody has mentioned that.

Yeah, I'm not sure his size would have allowed him to ever be a big star in the NBA, but dude is still ballin in his mid 40s. It's in Japan but considering the age that says something about how much talent he has.

Nope if he'd never gotten hurt TMac wasn't leaving Houston as an ascending player. We had seen his best days no matter what.

It was dissapointing for sure, but I think Duke won the title that year. They trotted out Laetner, Hurley, and Grant Hill.
The fab five was roaming around, IU was stacked with Calbert Cheyney and company, and I think the 'Big Dog' was strolling around for Purdue. Not to mention whatever UNLV had paid for.
Better coaches on every one of those squads.

Thanks for the link to the UF game. It was CJ's fifth college game.

I have no idea why he is in the conversation as far as NBA.
I clicked on this link thinking it was another "how did we not win with that line up" thread.
