He's not top 5, but certainly top 10.

A real QB can call this play:

Hop to Gun Kings Trips Right Tear 52 Sway
All Go Special X-Shallow Cross H-Wide

And 200 other ones like it.

Cam is a great athlete and football player

He is below average at being QB when it comes to throwing the ball

Cam has never been an elite (as in top 5) passer. He relies on his athleticism and legs to make plays. Which isn’t problem except he can’t keep doing that the older he gets. Then you consider that his OLs haven’t been the greatest, he’s a running QB who doesn’t mind hits (because he can run over a LB if need be), and injury issues (nothing serious but still affect his play). Then I’m not sure how good a player he’ll be a couple years from now when he can’t rely on his legs all as much and has taken way more hits then anybody else.

Cam was 20th last season in air yards per attempt

Currently 24th this season

He just doesn’t throw the call well

Cam is just a football player. More so than a QB.

He has proven he is capable of throwing the ball well, but over all you are correct. It's a combination of factors. He reverts to bad mechanics regularly which hurts his accuracy. His offensive line is offensive. His receivers are among the worst collection of receivers in the league. The offensive system has been pretty horrible. Jury is still out on the new offense.

They say the shorter the play call, the more memorization the players need.

To remember what their job is on the play.

The longer the play call, they're making it easier for the players by spelling everything out, formation, what the line does, what the running back does what each receiver does, etc.

Nah, football players jump on a loose ball in a meaningless game, not watch it roll around on the ground in a Superbowl.

Cam in that mvp season was maybe as good a football player As i ever saw. Any position. Total domination Took an utter trash supporting cast to 30 something ppg. And he was the best college qb I ever saw. Just an unreal talent. Unreal. Seems to be a like able guy too.

You have an odd fascination with players that vanish in big playoff moments.

I’m not a Cam fan but he is easily a top 10 QB in the nfl

If you can't find 10 guys you'd take over Cam, then you haven't been paying attention.

Imagine if cam had Sean Payton as his OC scheming up his offense he would be a taysom / brees hybrid.

He's nowhere near accurate enough to sustain an offense like that.

Wrong. His air yard per attempt proves that on average he goes downfield less than almost all other qbs. In this case the numbers don’t lie.

you’re still at this?

Since 2006 Drew Brees has averaged 4.16 attempts that have traveled 20+ air yards per game. This is 6th among active NFL QBs. Deshaun, Baker, Luck, Allen, Big Ben are ahead of him...

Since 2006 Drew Brees averages 1.9 completions per game on passes that traveled 20+ air yards. 4th among active QBs. Deshaun, Baker, Luck... only ones ahead of him

Brees has a 45.6% comp rate on passes 20+ yards downfield. Best among all QBs

Couple names you see missing from these numbers... care to point out a few?

Now go run to nextgenstats.com and we’ll reconvene.

Ok. Now tell me where he lands on the air yards per attempt list. When you cherry pick a number (20 yards or whatever makes him look favorable) you lose credibility. We want to know the average distance of all passes. Not just the ones over 20.
