the great thing about sports, is that you can do something about it: play a little D.
any and all arguments made about "running up the score" are sad. and then to mask the idiocy with "haha haters gonna hate" is even worse. this has about 1% to do with it being the lakers and 99% with it being a really bitch move.

at some point, you have to be a professional if you've been in the league long enough... i don't think it's unreasonable to expect basketball players to shut up and play basketball.
i also thought zidane should have been the bigger man...

nah, Bynum's def. not on the thug end of the NBA spectrum. he's more of a nice guy/ mama's boy.

Your entire post is just ignorant.
And if the NBA didn't T people up for "showing up the refs" then everyone would be thorough drama queens everytime they don't get a call (Kobe, Lebron, D Wade, etc). We'd spend more time with players arguing with refs than we would basketball.
I think what made the NBA borderlie unenjoyable is the fact that the Mavericks beat your Lakers like a red headed step child. Then Odom (who actually is a good guy) acted a little out of line with a hard foul on Dirk, but Bynum just showed his lack of class. People defending Bynum for his actions are beyond help

Actualy, not a single word of your argument is even close to being accurate. So I think that opening statement is much more suited for YOUR post than mine.
The rule was put in place this year, dont remember everybody being "thorough drama queens everytime they don't get a call" before. They would jump up and down and be obviously pissed at the bullshite call but they took up very little extra time with it if any at all. It was usually gestures or emotions while running away. RUNNING AWAY FROM THE REF ON A CALL IS NOW T'ABLE!!!!! Dumbest fricking thing I have ever saw.
The players have had to stifle their emotions throughout the season and in my opinion it has affected play. I'm not saying this had anything to do with the Lakers losing so dont even try to stretch that out of this post though.
And no, 1 week of bad basketball had no bearing on why I thought the entire season was less enjoyable than usual. That was my opinion a month ago so you can drop that line of thought.

At least I am man enough to admit when I was wrong and being emotional about something and not objectable. But by all means, continue to be a "dumbass" if it makes you feel better about yourself.

I'm talking thug in the sense of off-court criminal activity. he's not that type of guy. now on-court, he does some punk shite from time to time, but not a whole bunch. and def. not to the point where I think he'd be a criminal in his everyday life.

He's done more cheap crap on the floor in the last year than anyone else I can think of. So I guess everyone in the NBA would be a saint if not for their skills/height.

Odom is a likable guy off the court and that colors how people feel about him - in a positive way
Posted on 5/9/11 at 11:33 am to molsusports
Bynum is young and immature. He needs to get a grip on that for sure. Odom's outburst was about as mild as it gets as far as being ejected goes. He really is a good guy from everything I can see about him, and he expressed remorse and embarassment after the fact so I give him the benefit of the doubt.
The only thug on that team imo is artest, but they knew what they were getting when they got him. I still say that what he got suspended for the other night was nitpicky. He was trying to foul and he got there late and accidentally got his head, and you can see that he was actively trying to keep him from hitting the floor after he hit him.
You are probably going to say he saw that he fricked up and was trying to save his arse or whatever like haters do, but w/e.

dumbass because we point out you're wrong after you freak out and tell us guys deserve to get injured for playing with 8 minutes left?
dumbass

No need to have children play in the NBA. The ref's are there to referee the game as best as they see fit. I'm not saying that they can't disagree with the call, but bitching and moaning about it just makes you look like a whiney bitch. If you think there is a lack of emotion because people can't complain/unleash anger about calls then we've obviously been watching different games. Maybe living in the Laker limelight makes you numb to the emotions of the regular season/beginning of playoffs, but personally the NBA is still extremely emotional, especially with the "passing of the torch" as it were in the playoffs this year.
If complaining is what you want then there are plenty of Soccer games you can watch...all the drama in the world.
However, if i just misconstrued your argument and misjudged your thought process in this particular area, then my b

When the ref's are so untouchable that the players cant even make it obvious that they think a call was totally bogus without being T'd up, its rediculous. The ref's are NOT infallible and they already have more influence on the game than in any other major sport. I think that the new rules about T's for emotional outbursts over calls are unwarranted and only servers to stifle the emotions of the game.
If you think otherwise then I guess we can just agree to disagree.

MAYBE 5 games.

Players/coaches are always talking to the refs voicing the displeasure of certain calls. IMO i think that the "emotional outbursts" should be a cautionable offense first, because as we all know, it's a very emotional game. However i don't see a problem with them being a technical because the last thing you want is for an "unbiased" referee to be shown up by a player lavishly rebuking a call. So i guess all in all, agree to disagree
