You are insane if you think Bama isn’t getting in

If you’re that confident you can make some decent cash with Alabama still being +310 this morning.

ESPN Predictor just showed Bama with a 72% chance to make the CFP and SMU with a 28% chance. Take that for whatever its worth.

Not gonna lie- want Bama to make it just for the melts.

And if it was reversed- Think LSU should be in as well

How about Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and LSU?

I don’t think Bama or SMU deserve a shot at a national title but this dumb system says one of them does. I do think discouraging playing good teams isn’t going to make things better.

You’re not discouraging playing good teams you’re encouraging playing for your conference title and discouraging losing to trash teams you have no business losing to.

You are absolutely discouraging playing tough non conference games. You’re rewarding not losing to bad teams over beating good teams. So why play any good teams out of conference?

That’s happening no matter what you do with SMU.

They went 11-1 with an Indiana/ND schedule

You don’t compound it and ruin conference championships as well

I didn’t say they did. I said neither Bama nor SMU deserve to play for a national title.

But there is no ROI to even schedule these games. Bama plays Wisconsin and at FSU next year. That’s needless risk if all that matters is number of losses.

Why play USC if your LSU? If Clemson doesn’t play Georgia and plays a rent a win, they get a top 4 seed and a bye. If Indiana had played a tough non conference game and lost, then they are probably out.

Alabama was never "penalized" by the playoff committee or pollsters after that terrible loss to a mediocre Oklahoma. They were literally dropped just outside the top 12, waiting to be moved into a playoff slot after the results oft he various championship games.

SMU's non con was BYU, and they lost by a field goal-that was in September I believe. I guess both teams could make an argument, yet we know how this will play out-Alabama gets in because tv ratings are a thing.
