Yeah, good point. They should do the right thing, but you never know with this sport

+600 on my book
FSU was a lock last year, until they weren’t

Alll I want to say is that if you’re confident that Bama is getting in you should go bet on it because they are currently +350 to make the CFP

Just put my house note on it.
It’s not gambling if you know you can win.
The CFP committee better not screw me over.

SMU has 0 ranked wins — I think they played like 1 team in the top half of the ACC before losing to Clemson. There is no guarantee that they are in, nor should there be. When you lose to the only decent teams that you play, you should be out. It doesn’t matter how ‘close’ the game is. Uga lost by 3 last year to Bama in the SECCG and dropped out — so I don’t want to hear about how teams ‘shouldn’t be penalized for losing’ those games. SMU would be penalized not simply for losing their CCG, but for not beating either of the ranked teams that they played in the season. You have to look at the SOS at some point.

4 teams vs 12 teams.
1 regular season loss vs 3
11 wins vs 9.
Results have to matter

You guys underestimate the corruption.
It's so easy to pay the Committee (they're not sequestered jurors).....it's so easy for the Network to pick who they think draws the most eyeballs....when you manufacture a made for TV event.... As Buddy Holly said, "it's so easy, it's so easy, it's so easy."

Should be. But the committee is stupid, so we will see.

Then fans need to unite, boycott, and show them we don't give a crap about their ratings. Only fair competition.

So, losing to “decent teams” is verboten, but it’s perfectly fine to lose to 6-6 Vanderbilt and 6-6 Oklahoma (by THREE TOUCHDOWNS IN WEEK 14).

The last 15 years you watched them put Bama in when only two teams were selected while sitting at home on championship Saturday
Then another what, four times when it expanded to four teams?
Lololol
It's like people haven't been watching what the human committees do when Bama is around, even with losses.
Bama = TV ratings
Bama is IN. Somebody else is out; probably SMU.
People want to watch Bama at ND or Bama at Ohio State. SMU is an entity that many people have never heard of.

I think this “people want to see Bama at Ohio State” line of thinking is probably exactly right for the old college football and makes sense to maximize viewership this year.
I’m not sure it’s right for NIL era CFB and the long-term business model of the sport.
What I mean is, Bama fans aren’t on the fence about college football as a sport. They’re going to keep attending games and watching.
What the powers that be want is to keep average fans watching and bring on new fans. To me that means they’ll want less championships for the old guard of the SEC. They’ll want the likes of SMU in the playoffs. “See, we have parity. Anybody can make it. Don’t stop watching our bullshite sport.”

But y’all crying about SMU needing to be a lock when they haven’t beaten a single ranked team is gay af.
And to make it even more gay, we all know damn well y’all would argue the opposite if the resumes were reversed.
