Tradition and money, yes. Loads of talent, not so much. That is one of ND's biggest problems, they don't have the talent to match up with the best teams in the country.

My opinion of him has nothing to do with his talent level or "his players." It has to do with poor coaching decisions. Of all the football I've watched this season, the two biggest blunders were made by Kelly. I think he's a dolt.

Well, that would explain the disdain.

This reminds me of the reaction when ULM beat Bama three years ago.

You gotta give him 3 years to make this kind of statement

Bad coaching decisions has nothing to do with tenure, players, etc. When I see a coach make two glaring mistakes in two consecutive games, it makes me very concerned about his abilities.

I didn't think he was a dolt until the past two weeks. I actually thought he was a great hire for Notre Dame. After watching him against Michigan and Michigan State, I do not think he is a good coach.

This is just my opinion. Also, I have no hatred for Notre Dame. I am Catholic and liked them very much as a child. I don't love them now, but I don't hate them. I am basically ND Neutral.

So you'd rather be 1-2 right now? I don't understand the reasoning on this at all.

Because of two decisions, one of which is COMPLETELY understandable given the circumstances, and the other didn't come back to haunt him at all. You've got to be kidding me.

ND doesn't have LSU talent, and ND has played better teams. we've played 2 shitty teams and 1 ok team who played walkons and was 2 drops away from beating us

This season is going to keep Miles here. I can see it already. No way we lose more then 3 games before the bowl game, and I won't be surprised if we only lose one. Chavis actually has our D playing like one of the good UT defenses he had and we can run the ball. That is all it will take to win most of the games on our schedule. Our passing offensive looks worse then any time I can remember though. just awful.

It's not that big of a gap. Their 07 class killed. And they have a QB.

Would you be mad if we only lost one???
We need Miles to have a good year to keep this recruiting class locked down. A coaching change would kill our class.

And ND has already lost two games vs teams with less overall talent so...

The situation at halftime against Michigan is a no brainer. You have to take the three points there and it came back to bite them in the end like it always does. That was a STUPID decision anyway you slice it.

Why do you have to take the three points? You potentially have a backup JUCO QB leading the way in the 2nd half. You really want it to be a two possession game especially when you kick off to start the half?

Montana was complete garbage. He honestly made one of the worst throws I've ever see when he threw his pick.

ND looks 10 times better than last year already IMO. They are 0-2 but could have easily come out on top in both games against good opponents. Michigan and Mich State are both good teams this year. Crist looks like a good prospect and the D is improved. Kelly will do a good job there.

Whether or not it came back to haunt them is a matter of opinion. They did lose the game. Going for it and failing cost them about 35 yards in field position. Had they punted and stopped MSU, they could have gained possession at about midfield and won the game with a field goal. Remember, there were around 6 minutes left when this happened.

Against Michigan, how you can justify that is beyond me. The fact that they had a shitty QB makes getting the easy 3 points even MORE important. Worst decision I've seen all year.
