Correct? Maybe yes and maybe no.
Imagine not understanding the difference in fact and opinion.

Also, imagine Les Miles inherited the same program Brian Kelly inherited from Ed Orgeron. Now imagine Brian Kelly inherited the same program built up by Nick Saban.

The game passed Les by in about 2016. The game passed Kelly by in about 2023 it seems.

You can’t compare like that, all I know is in the year of our Lord 2025, BK ain’t it.

His LSU teams CONSTANTLY waste timeouts presnap because they can’t get the play in, the o line has underperformed mightily 2 seasons in a row, can’t run the ball, turn the ball over when you CANNOT turn the ball over. Etc

That shite is all coaching

Pyburn has 6 tackles and split a sack (that probably could have been just his)

tackling is about angles and when you’re running around a OT it’s hard to get the right handle when the QB steps up

People actually liked Les and we could actually run the ball and play defense for most of his tenure.

BK is infinitely worse than Les Miles and it's an insulting comparison.

Les Miles inherited Sabins System.

Just like Gruden inherited Dungys.
Just like the other coach of the colts inherdited Dungys.

Les Miles probably would have made the 12 team playoffs a lot, but then shite the bed in the quarterfinals.

So in 3 seasons as head coach of LSU (I don’t think it’s fair to compare 4 full seasons)

Brian Kelly is 29-11. 1 Western division co-champs with 3 bowl victories. 1 Citrus. 1 Reliaquest 1. Texas.

He finished each year ranked (coaches/AP)

2022:15/16
2023: 12/12
2024: NR/NR

Les Miles was 34-6. 1 Western co-champ and 1 outright SEC championship with 3 bowl victories. 1 Peach. 1 Sugar and 1 National Championship.

He finished each year ranked (coaches/AP)

2005: 5/6
2006: 3/3
2007: 1/1

Both were 5-1 through 6 games in their 4th season both winning 5th game against South Carolina after a loss the game prior.

So I guess if you simply go off of both coaches 4th season you are 100% correct.

I would say the closest comparison would be 1995-1997 DiNardo honestly. Solid teams that go 8-4 or 9-3, win a big game here and there but also suffer some completely avoidable losses and can never quite seem to put it all together.
