There are 3 ways this goes right?

1. Everyone cancels/postpones
2. SEC goes on and it goes off without a hitch and they look great in retrospect
3. SEC goes on and there is literally 1 death or serious illness and the media goes just fing bonkers

SEC can be some combo of SEC/ACC/Big 12

4. SEC and others go on, and there are less infections and deaths for players playing than in the Big and Pac, and the media implodes on themselves

I guess that could happen, and then i'd be more pissed because OSU should be competing this year (like most years)

Its almost guaranteed players not playing will test positive at a greater rate than those sill playing

Look right now at how much lower infection rates are between teams/general population

I'm going to guess you conveniently won't hear shite about the not playing players testing positive if any conference plays

It will certainly be interesting to measure deaths of players in conferences playing vs not playing.

I am a mask-believing in liberal, but I don't see how the players are any safer not playing.

They probably won’t be, but it’s clear that this isn’t a safety issue, it’s about revenue vs. liability/appearance of caring. And apparently liability/appearance of caring won out in the Big 10 (and soon to be Pac 12, and I expect the rest eventually).

USC has had a 1% positivity rate in all of their testing of fall athletes so far and their last nearly 200 tests have been negative.

LA County would give their collective left nut for 1% positivity rate.

If there are large outbreaks, they can always reevaluate, but if anything, cases within teams have dropped since camps started.

with plans to play in spring

1) no serious person believes this is anything other pure horse shite

2) Rece Davis just Cy loudly shouted down even the suggestion of spring football as “completely irresponsible” and an absolute joke of the safety of the players is truly at the heart of their decision making
