As was the cheating reference since they've tightened up on the rules like trash cans and Apple watches
although they still let judge set the record for AL hrs with juiced baseballs

So now will the Red Sox boo him when he hits?

100% untrue and unfounded

He is declining offensively. Plus he can’t run. In three years he will be way on the downhill side if his career.

You think Alex Bregman is worth being paid the same AAV as Aaron Judge

I mean they cheered for known cheater Mookie Betts. Not sure why they'd boo Bregman

He's on the wrong side of 30 and declining. His best skill was his elite plate discipline and drawing walks. That skill fell off the map last year. Career low in walks.
His previous career low was 55. That was his 2nd season. Since then in his full seasons he drew 96, 119, 87 and 92 walks. In 2024... 44. That's an absurd Dip in his best skill. Maybe it was a 1 year aberration and he gets back to what he's done in his career. But that one gave me pause on wanting him back.

It’ll be interesting to see how much he actually makes over the next six seasons. With the way the money keeps inflating I guess he’s sure he can get a 3/60 at the end of this even if he’s not killing it.
Part of me still thinks it’s crazy to leave 50 million on the table. You never know, but these dudes just live in a different world.

Exactly.

I mean I’m one of the biggest Bregman fans out there and no way I would pay him more than 30 million a year much less 40 million. Just insane
I would get this type of reasoning in a sport with a salary cap, but in baseball, what does it really matter if the owner is willing to shell out some more?

He’s already made $100m before this contract. I am not sure the steak will taste much better once you get over $200 million

Plus with the state tax differences in Houston vs Boston, Astros roster being a lot more ready to compete for World Series, and it would have cemented him as an all time Astros great for playing his entire career there
to go play second base for the Red Sox and then try to find another deal to make just a little bit more? seems odd
