By the beginning of next season Brees will Hold the all-time records in:

NUMBER 1
1. Touchdown passes
2. Passing Yards (pulling away from everyone)
3. Completion percentage (no one close)
4. Passes complete (no one remotely close)
5. Yards per game (no one close)
6. Passes completed per game
7. Most 5000 yard seasons (5 times - more times than the rest of the QBs in history COMBINED)

Notables:
-Top 3 all time QB rating
-Top 3 in game winning drives
-Top 4 all time QB rating in post season history
-Top 4 all time passing yards per game post season
-Top 5 in net yards per pass attempt
-Top 15 yards per pass attempt (tied with P Manning and ahead of Brady)
-Top 10 in adjusted yards per pass attempt
-Top 5 in 4th quarter comebacks (tied with Elway)
-Only 26 times in history has any quarterback in any season (not named Brees) thrown for over 68% completion in a season. Brees’ average completion % has been above that for the last FIFTEEN years.

It would be tempting to walk away if they win the title this year.

Why? The team is loaded for a few more years. He’s playing at an elite level, feels great, making $25 million/year, young talent on both sides of the ball

If we won it and he was in caretaker game manager mode, yeah you probably call it a day but I doubt he walks away playing elite ball with a chance to pad the records lead

If he plays out his contract at this level the man is going to finish with 600TDs, 85,000 yards and a 70% completion rate

That’s video game numbers over the course of his career. I could see him retiring after next season though.

If Brees played for a media favorite team he would be widely considered the GOAT.

Has zero to do with his or any other QB's ability and accomplishments at the position.

It’s accurate - looked it up and verified it myself.

Gotta put in the leg work because the media isn’t going to do it

ETA: I added a caveat to it to clarify

we say this every year a team Wins a SB, yet repeats almost never happen.

He makes it look easy in Sundays, but that's because he puts a lot of work into it. Can't blame him if he says frick the grind and retires on top.
