I have a hard time believing the Patriots would turn down a better deal and put JG's future ahead of their own. The thing never made any sense.

I could maybe buy it if they actually had a losing season, or even a 9-7, 10-6 no playoff season nope, #1 seed in the AFC.

They will have Edelman back.
He's #1 receiver.
Played without entire season.

What would atl be without Julio.
Dallas without Ezekiel.

Tom gets mvp for win without best all around guy.
Really missed him when TE out for late hit too.

I expect bill deal Edelman for high picks.

the story is ridiculous on its face.

The article doesnt even insinuate that they are at each others throats, it simply shows the stress and strain that always shows when something this great is winding down.

I'm not sure why this is so hard to believe. Kobe Bryant, Shaq, and Phil Jackson were as successful as you can be and they fell apart eventually due to egos.

Montana, Manning, and Favre had shaky ends to their careers with wildly successful teams.

It's well documented that Brady and Kraft are very close, and it's plausible Brady influenced that trade to SF. I read the whole article and nothing really seems outlandish.

So a quick look at reddit led me to find out that there is no suck thing as patriot of the week, it's actually practice player of the week awarded to the practice squad player who best helps the team prep.so we are to believe that Brady is upset over not getting this award. Hack journalism

Does anyone actually believe that those 3 haven't had bad times or disagreements or even shouting matches? Of course they have! That doesn't mean that it's a toxic environment, it just means that they disagree about things and all 3 have an insane desire to win. In the same vein, do any of you think that Saban's coaches just absolutely LOVE getting yelled at on the sidelines? of course not! I'm sure they go home complaining about how much they absolutely hate the guy! However, in both cases, winning cures all disagreements in sports and that is why this story really doesn't make sense.

Dude on The Herd was just talking about TB12 and Brady wanting to make it to 45 years old because that's the number his trainer has pounded into his(and all the other QBs he trains) heads.

Basically explained that Brady wants to go all in with this alternative lifestyle stuff once he is done with football. Playing 5 or so more years is INCREDIBLY important to him and not just for football reasons.

We know how Bill works. Dude is obsessed with his way of making this football organization work.

I could EASILY see him being fed up with what is going on(if true).

We've seen many successful QBs have ugly ends to their career with their long-time teams. I'd would have bet Brady's career would end the same way before this story was even published.

montana missed almost 2 full years with an injury. manning missed a full year and they weren't sure if he could play again and he just signed the most ridiculous contract ever.

favre just wasn't good, didn't give a shite, didn't show up to practices, OTAs and strung them along year after year so he could skip all of it...packers had enough of his shite and had aaron Rodgers who they needed to play him or he'd walk.

save for the conclusions drawn from it, the characterization of it as "the end" and without any knowledge as to what their personal relationship has been like for 18 years (maybe it's always been like this)..just the basic premise of the article is stupid

and calling it a "bombshell"

it has all the hallmarks of sensationalism for clicks and to drive viewers to espn for the day which also makes me question the credibility of the article.

this is the end...except it's not. I guess brady will retire in 2 years because he's old and espn will thump their chest over this article. the whole thing is stupid.

Take 3 egomaniacs and throw in a shady advisor and it's more probable than not this story is true. All three need the Patriots to win, but it's entirely plausible their motives are much different.

I've been on teams with toxic relationships that were still incredibly successful. I'm not sure anything in the article is outlandish.

Brady hasn't been on the back end of his career for 18 years though.

The Patriots FO is making plans for a future without Brady. Brady has a ton of pull with Kraft and non-football reason to want to play through his mid 40s. Brady's vision doesn't align with Bill's vision, but Brady's influence gets Jimmy G traded. The seeds of an ugly divorce have been planted.

Is that hard to believe?

How much of the article is about the TB12 stuff? That shite is becoming pretty fascinating to me.

If I'm to believe some of the stuff I've heard these reporters say, Brady is pretty ate up with it. To the point where it will be his life after football.

It seems like a coach and a QB are threatening the way each other do things. Brady with being adamant that he's going to be the QB a half decade from now. And Bill getting tired of this trainer shite(which Brady has made into his lifestyle).

True.

And they might all have enough respect for each other to divorce gracefully now that this stuff is out there. I have no idea if any of this is true.

But it is pretty interesting.

It shouldn't be. Especially since this wouldn't be the first time that a franchise moved on from a star qb for the next star (Manning,Favre,Montana)

Why?

Jimmy G didn't do anything wrong, and Belichick, while ruthless at times, also has shown in the past he will work with players (i.e. cutting vets early in training camp so they can catch on to other teams, trading players to good teams, ect).

Of course they're gonna rebut the ESPN report, none of them are directly quoted regarding this rift and therefore they have plausible deniability about what is alleged to have happened, however so much of this material implies clear leaking to the press from someone within and Belichick's name appears A LOT in this article. Hmmm.
