Is this where you turn this into a "I hate ESPN" conversation? Because you could simply start another thread if you wanted to do that.
Or you could go frick yourself, dickjaw

Alright touching on the actual content. Do you personally believe that a 5 time Super Bowl winner cares about player of the week. Someone who won Super Bowl MVP and basically gave it to someone else. Do you also believe that he is so damn petty that he would lock Jimmy out of his trainers building. This sounds like stuff that a staffer would "overhear" then go report to this dude

quote:Belichick's been pretty cut throat with every other player during his tenure in New England. I can remember when they draft Jimmy G. Everyone on ESPN was scratching their heads as to why.
They traded him for a second rounder at that. Brady is old, and it's Belichick's job to plan for the future, which he clearly thought he had since he drafted Jimmy G a few years ago.
Let's also remember that the Pats got rid of two qbs this year that were servicable. This just seems like standard Belichick practice IF he really thought that Brady was at the tail end of his career and that Jimmy G had more upside for the future.

Ok fair enough.... but how many teams in the NFL have a legit shot at the SB EVERY year?????? For the last 18 years the Pats always seem to be the team to beat before the season starts.......it's an amazing run that I doubt we see again....

I have no idea how much of this is speculation vs. facts. But I will say this, Kraft is the guy between a rock and a hard place. HOF HC and QB that have their respective resumes, how do you pick a side? Had Brady began to fade like many expected and not won the SB last year they may have been able to make a transition. But I don't see how that would've been possible after the start he had this year. 3-5 years from now sure, Garoppolo should be the better QB but that's not an easy trigger to pull.
If they traded Brady away and he somehow won a title Jimmy would have to win 2-3 to cancel that out in their fans' minds. They'd burn Patriot's Place to the fricking ground otherwise.

Many also refuse to look at the Patriots record outside the AFC East.
Since 2001:
Against AFC East: 77-22 .778 winning %
Against all other opponents: 129-39 .768 winning %

So a quick look at reddit led me to find out that there is no suck thing as patriot of the week, it's actually practice player of the week awarded to the practice squad player who best helps the team prep.so we are to believe that Brady is upset over not getting this award. Hack journalism

What are they supposed to say?
Joint Statement by Patriots
“We hate each other. It’s on to the divisional playoffs”

DAMN for an organization whose entire basis and foundation has been on precluding the circulation of leaks and maintaining secrecy, this is watershed stuff. The narrative and slant implies it was produced by Belichick, he likely clearly wanted this out there. Isn't this the same guy who broke the story concerning Harbaugh's departure from the 49ers? Goofy stuff.

Why would something like this spill out on the street when it’s not the “patriot way”.
I find it rather comical how so many of you are pick to dismiss 100% of this information.
