Cuban has stated that he constantly gets messages/emails from Indiana fans every year asking him to buyout the basketball coach contract. He also said he stays away from that kind of stuff.

So do y’all think the Indiana program can be restored to previous glory?
Basketball is way easier than football to restore. You literally need just a couple of good players to be relevant.

Bringing in Kyrie was a disaster. That set them back a lot. Then the Hayward injury. In some alternate timeline, they never sign Flat Earth, Hayward never gets injured, and the Celtics have won a couple of titles the last few years while West Coast Ag uses his tears to beat off into his LeMao jersey.

Wasn’t Boston 6 games into the Eastern Conf Finals last year? Kemba and Smart have spent more time in the training room than on the court this year, and they’re still going to be a playoff team this year. Idk what Brad Stevens is going to do, but any move he makes won’t be because Boston doesn’t want him as their hc. That’s a wild take.

and IU at least flirted with national relevancy under crean.
that zeller/oladipo led squad a few years back was the best team in the country, but just ran into a bad matchup against Syracuse in the tournament.

literally extended his contract last summer.
Why does that ever matter?

I wanted to see them play Louisville for the title so badly. Those were the two best teams by a mile all season.

Stevens got Butler deep in the NCAA tournament a couple times at least. That school is located in Indiana. I think if anyone could win at IU, it would be him.

They went to back to back national title games, which is arguably the most improbable thing to happen in the last 30 years of college basketball.

Good, he’s too good a coach to be in the NBA. That league is an embarrassment to basketball and to sports.

Beat UF with Donovan in the tournament in 2011. Beat Izzo and Draymond in 2010 final four in Indy of all places. I was impressed with their teams.

Jesus, this would be beyond a Home Run hire. Add to the fact he coached at Butler and knows exactly what the IU job is.

Stevens literally told the media on Monday that he wasn't going to leave the Celtics for IU.

Brad Stevens on staying in Boston instead of heading home to Indiana: “I’m not a kid anymore. I’m a 44 year old Masshole. I swerve around others when I’m driving, I eat Dunkin Donuts and I root for the Patriots.”
