The Giants? That is certainly an interesting one. I'm still fairly convinced that Boston is making a large run at him. I agree with _tebow, NYY, CHC, and Boston are the favorites with Texas and Toronto as outside chances.

I also think it's going to be a 4 team bidding war between Boston, Texas, NYY, and LAA for Grienke, one I really hope Texas wins.

this isn't 2009 I highly doubt anybody will be biding over a middling #2 starter

From mlbtraderumors:

Greinke, the top free agent starter available this offseason, figures to obtain a contract worth $100MM-plus.

That doesn't scream middling #2. He was only a #2 for LAA because of Weaver. He would be a #1 for quite a few teams in the future, though probably not on the Rangers. Greinke will probably get close to a Cole Hamels type of deal.

I think the days of Boston over paying for aging talent ended when the shipped off Crawford and Beckett.

Maybe if they can get him for a reasonable amount they make a run, but not a large one. Their real focus needs to be pitching and rebuilding the farm system.
