I haven’t seen him on anything in a long time, but I always liked him.

I thought he did a good job with outside the lines.

There will always be a part of me that recalls the 80’s and 90’s ESPN and all its glory.

I'm old enough to recall him Tom Mees and Chris Berman on some of the first sportscenters.

I always liked Bob Ley. I grew up in the OG ESPN era. It was awesome. I will be glad to never see Bob sporting his beard ever again.

He's been on leave for a while now, so this isn't a huge surprise. But he is one of the best.

Old ESPN was the best, when it just started. ESPN needs to get back to that style imo

He was probably devastated when ESPN lost the World Cup rights. Maybe he might show up on Fox come 2022.

Would be awesome. After that, they can get rid of that fricking trash commentator JP Dellacamera and replace him with someone British.

Hearing this opener and panning to Bob Ley commandeering the studio in Johannesburg or Rio or wherever is forever fondly ingrained in my being. One of the greats.

This honestly made me think a whole lot less of him. Not to get too political but given the situation it must be in context. Obama and espn were trying to play up that game as some beacon of freedom but we saw in that instant that it is same ole same ole and bob leys response was to get pissed that his narrative was shot not out of concern of a real authoritarian dictatorship instantly arresting (and likely worse) a guy who did not injure anyone and simply walked up and tried to voice an opinion against his government.

People walk up and say stuff all the time when a news broadcast is occurring on the streets of the us. Ley was just ticked that his phony narrative blew up in his face
