I dont have a problem with kobe at 11. You also have 5 dominant big men in the top 10 which kind of squeezes him down a little.

Not surprisingly the list becomes a train wreck the further back it goes.

Lillard at 64. Why? The writeup is all about his unnecessarily deep 3s and 2 series winning shots. Where did he ever lead a team? Who would take lillard over Kyrie as a player, just as one of many examples?

Draymond green being on the list period.

Hate it when people bring up efficiency as a knock on Kobe. He played the game the most difficult way possible and was still the best player in the world for a stretch. Let any of those other guys ahead of him play that way and their efficiency is worse by a mile. Some of the screenshots of the shots Kobe took are hilariously egregious and he still made a high percentage of them. Steph is the only one who took as many dumb shots and looked smart after. In a vacuum, without screens, one-on-one, Kobe puts him in a coffin though.

I only had 1 take. I’ve never said anything negative about Curry’s offense. Basketball players play offense and defense. If you’re average at best at half the game, that has to be taken into account. Kobe was a way better defender, very close on offense, has more rings. I actually like Steph more than Kobe as a person. I’m suprised at the apparent dislike of Kobe for some reason.

LAC was supposed to win 35/36 games last year per vegas. They win 50. Powell and zubac went from career role players to borderline all star and All nba.

“Doesn’t make teammates better”

The year before that Pg and Kawhi both post their highest ts% seasons of their career in the first year harden played in LAC

“Doesn’t make teammates better”

The year before that Embiid won MVP and had the best season of his career his 1 full season in PHI

countless objective examples — few players in league history are better at making teammates better.

Kobe played in 2 different eras… saw more change than anyone on the list ahead of him except for Kareem when it comes to rules. Played the same brand in both and was successful. Imagine if Steph had to play in an era when you could put your hands on people without the screening opened up by hybrid defenses. Spacing provided because 4 other guys on the court could shoot 3s.

I love Tim Duncan but no one called him the best player in the world ever yet he’s somehow ahead of Kobe on this list.

I think Tim has a reasonable argument for that over his era. Not as dominant as Shaq or as flashy as Kobe. His peak came before LeBron. He had the hardware and was the reason for the winning.

People made those points when he was playing but forget afterwards because he played for a small market team and had the charisma of Bernie Sanders.

He's going to be like a forgotten player over time even though he beat flashier players.

Kobe won 4/6 playoff series against Duncan.

That's why he's not a top 10 player. He played in the triangle and settled for contested jump shots consistently. He was a tough shot maker, but he couldn't get separation despite all his footwork. His game was robotic and he lacked quickness.

Shaq is NOT a top 10 all timer.

And Hakeem behind Shaq?

Come on. Be serious.

I'll post other stats too, but to say he has "no business being ahead of Kobe" is ridiculous. It is certainly arguable.

I agree, but if I need a MF’er to will me a W, and these two dudes are my choices, I’m taking KB every single time.

And Duncan didn’t guard Shaq when they played either. He was still a PF and Malik Rose guarded Shaq for most of those games. This list is retarded.

Putting Steph ahead of even KD is asinine when that man took Steph’s teams to championships and won finals MVPs.

He’s the GOAT at his position. Is Kobe?

Is the greatest center (football) of all time better than Drew Brees? What a stupid take.

DPBM is an absolute nothing stat. If y'all are really gonna argue Steph is even close to the same defender Kobe was, then you don't know basketball at all.

I'm not arguing that...at all. Simply doing what you asked.

If you're arguing that they have "no business putting Steph ahead of Kobe", then you don't know basketball at all either. There is a very good argument for it. The guy completely revolutionized the game, is the greatest shooter to ever live, and his "traditional" stats and Kobe's are very close.
