People seem to remember Cowher and Gruden to be better coaches than they really were the longer they remain away from the game. Each has attained almost legendary status. It's unwarranted IMO
Cowher is a top 15 coach all time in the NFL, he deserves semi legendary status

Gruden, no

What leads you to believe he couldn't adapt?

Also an overrated coach. Love his announcing though

Man, I don't know. Tampa never really gave him a QB to work with outside of Brad Johnson, and he did pretty good with Johnson.

whatever punk, I played QB at a D1 school and spent time on an NFL roster

I was also rated as a 4 star on Rivals

my opinion is far from uninformed

Which school and which NFL team?

Not busting your balls. Genuinely curious.

Brian Billick is in the same boat, and he's begging for a job and can't get one.

Gruden is the coveted guy for every NFL AND college position that comes available.

That doesn't make sense.

Compare him to Brian Billick and the way they are both received, that's a good start.

Gruden is almost 10 years younger. Plus, he's more likeable.

Window of opportunity is about 4 years before these guys become obsolete. Cowher's done, jimmy Johnson is done. Gruden is getting close to being done.
