Josh Hamilton would be an all time great without the drugs. He was only clean/healthy for about 5 years. Made 5 all star games, an MVP, and 3 silver sluggers during that time.

Daly became known for getting fat and drinking beer at an age when most professional athletes are no longer professional athletes or in the spotlight, and continues to play. Not sure how he makes this list.
He also won two majors. Only 88 other people have done that. Hard to call that a waste.

Derek Sanderson.

Far from a bust, he was an excellent player, but I think he had more raw talent than Orr, and could have set a standard that Gretsky wouldn't have been able to beat.

Outstanding young racer who got involved in his father's drug-smuggling operation, crippling his career.

Remember he got Jeff Garcia to coach him and worked out trying to get a tryout with an NFL team and none were interested.

That whole thing was a bit weird in that I feel like Garcia quietly gave up on JR after figuring out that JR wasn’t serious.

I really wanted him to make a comeback too, always been a big Jamarcus fan.

Josh Gordon.

I think weed being a banned substance in the NFL is dumb, but if he had just abstained during his pro career, I feel like he would been a beast year in and year out.

Antonio Brown to a lesser degree, as he did have a successful career early on, but then fell off a ledge.
