What you got? Here are the ones that come to mind for me.

1996 Arizona State - came out of nowhere to shut out Nebraska and came within a defensive stop of Ohio State from winning the Rose and natty.

Ed Orgeron - you could see glimpses during 2018, but nobody predicted that this guy would lead LSU to a 15-0 season with the GOAT team

Gene Chizik - take out the Cam season and his career record is 19-19.

2007 Kansas - Jayhawks go 12-1 and have a fair argument about being BCS Title worthy.

2000 Oregon State - one of my favorite games was seeing these guys obliterate Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. They had a case for being in the BCS title game as well.

1998 Arizona - went from 7-5 to 12-1 and a top 5 finish.

1998 Tulane - a 12-0 season that came out of nowhere

2014 Mississippi schools - first ever CFP ranking features 3 SEC schools in top 4, two of which are Moo St and Ole Miss.

1995 Northwestern - a 3-win team in ‘94 comes back and would have had a perfect regular season if not for a slip up against Miami (OH). They were solid the year after, but quickly regressed back to Northwestern form.

Ain't that the truth. Turns out there is a large chasm between being able to design amazing passing plays and actually being able to run an offensive program.

Time will tell, both as to "one hit" and "wonder"

2004 CAL...had a great team with Rodgers, Marshawn, JJ Arrington. Could have been in Rose bowl vs Michigan. Lost to a #1 USC by a TD. Had some good teams under Tedford but that team was elite.

They were ranked no 1 in 2007 at one point, but so was everyone that year. Tedford was solid but only won 10 games one more year after that.

For Sonny Dykes sure, but TCU has had some good teams in recent history before this. I still believe that had the 2014 team made the CFP they could have won the natty, they were much more formidable than the 2022 squad imo. I think even the 2010 Andy Dalton squad that went undefeated and won the Rose Bowl was better. They had some other teams under Patterson that were pretty good too but those are the two that stick out to me.

Isn't he the offensive coordinator of the #2 scoring offense in the NFL right now?

I mean the bills have the no. 2 scoring offense in the NFL, and he's the offensive coordinator.

2010 Nevada Wolfpack with Colin Kaepernick. Best season for them in however long. Ran the Pistol beautifully with Kaep. Beat #3 Boise St. in overtime at home. For all this they got to play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl against a middling Boston College. What could’ve been if they didn’t lose to fricking Hawaii lol.
