How many of the supposed great qbs haven't taken a step forward or outright sucked. Nuss has been average and he's been great compared to Klubnik, Lagway, Sellers, ARCH.

Gundy getting fired. Not because I expected him to turn things around ( he hired Grantham, lol) but because I didn't think they'd move on so quickly.

Sellers, has he been bad? Haven't seen the game but his stats in the 2 losses look good.

Was 6/7 94 yards vs Vandy when he got knocked out.

18/28 302 2/0 vs Mizzou

It'll be interesting to see how they do on the road but Iowa is not a bad place to get their bearings. They'll probably beat them by multiple scores.

I'm throwing out the Vandy game. He was supposed to be a top 3 pick and he's got 5 TDs in 3 games and two of those games were against arse like Va Tech and SC State. Now to be fair to him, he is saddled with Mike Shula.

Cal beating Minnesota would be shocking, until you realize Min runs a 43 with a run stopping SS. Cal's scheme was a solid counter

Book was out on Clemson, they went all in last year. In retrospect, should have seen it coming with how little they changed their team given no truly elite, dynamic offensive players

Tech was obvious given NIL spending/portal, may have shown backup qb too early vs Utah given how defense was playing

Houston has played Colorado, who hid the portal qb they're reliant on

Pavia's team/system also improved & won conference year 2 at New Mexico State(side note, Jerry Kill’s track record is insane. Guy is clearly an elite coach)

K-State, same as Clemson

Navy is always great, UNT has a 2nd year coach that had a major improvement over predecessor in year 1, Rice has year 1 coach

Oklahoma State was always going to be a casualty of NIL, Gundy stopped gaf immediately after last players he recruited pre-NIL ran out of eligibility

The real surprises are LSU's offense, Lagway/Arch, Notre Dame's defense, Old Dominion, Oregon State, how Haynes King can still walk/no one can defend their bs

MU?

As in Missouri. Like the other old Big 8 schools (OU, NU, KU, CU).

Out of those you listed, the only one that is correct is KU, which IS Kansas University.

All the rest are "University of _____", not " ______ University"

Never heard Nebraska called "NU" or Missouri called "MU"

While Colorado and Oklahoma DO have "CU" and "OU" on their helmets, they are stupid for doing so....

Surprised:

That people seem impressed at x-O results at the beginning of the season when lesser schools go play major players to pad their athletic budgets and expect to lose, and mostly do lose.

Indiana absolutely strangled the Illinois running game

Illinois looked like a JV team...Which made people just dump on Illinois but that was all Indiana being faster and way more physical... That beat down was no illusion.

You are probably too young to know but ALL Big8 schools went by XU for athletics. Every single one. Not sure why the Big8 did that but they did. It may go all the way back to the missouri valley conference, not 100% sure.

Nebraska

Missouri

EDIT: and kansas is "university of kansas" not kansas university LINK

Arch

This isn't surprising at all. If his last name was Fanning or Lanning he wouldn't have been a P4 (or maybe even D1) recruit

So we’re going with there was an industry wide conspiracy to wildly overrate a prospect because of his last name and Texas didn’t even scout said player, instead paying him millions and deciding to die on a hill with him despite his flaws which would have become obvious based on how he practiced over 3 years?

Vandy is maximizing the NIL era. Like why wouldn’t you go there as an upper echelon student athlete, especially grad transfers. You get to play in the SEC, you get a free Vanderbilt Graduate degree or undergrad degree, you get paid to go to college and you’re in Nashville, a good city to be established in at 24+ years old if you can’t go to the NFL. Vandy was never going to wreck their prestigious reputation by using bagmen, now that they can legally pay players, they will be a 6-7 win team consistently and will pull off 8-10 every so often.
