Why is his son still practicing and planning to play this season if it isn't safe. I want an answer from Kevin Warren. Big Ten teams deserve this question to be answered. This guy has been the Big Ten commissioner for a minute and he's already shite the bed.

He's only doing what the University chancellors, included The Ohio State's, told him to do.
Get mad at them.
Get mad at them.

Kevin Warren wants to be the commissioner of the NFL. He doesn't care about the Big 10 or college football. All he wants to do is rack up points with liberal power brokers.
Big 10 season will not be played in Spring. The best thing Ohio State can do is leave the league and make it crumble.

Possibly. Theres been a lot of debate about that and nobody is really telling the truth about what happened but I know OSU, Mich, Penn St and Nebraska all want to play

I think you are right about this. The guy seems like he doesn't give a shite about it.

I still stand by he's only doing what everyone else told him to do.
He may very well be in favor of it, too, but if the 14 chancellors, or at least a majority of them, suggested to him to have a season, we'd have a B1G season.
You say Ohio State wants to play is you mean the athletic department wants to play.
The chancellor is willing to take it down to avoid litigation and to appear on the "We care" side.

But what sense does it make to enforce a blanketed decision across a conference that geographically covers half the country? Businesses and families in Lincoln rely on Husker football to stay alive. It’s an enormous part of the cities economy. If other cities think they can survive and want to cancel, that’s fine. But this isn’t as simple as “we want football” when it comes to Nebraska

The right wing side will say the "leftist" educators are willing to sabotage the American society and economy to influence the upcoming Presidential election.
The left wing side will say it's all for the protection of the kids and their families.
There may be truth to both sides, but I can assure you that litigation and the threat of major lawsuits is the #1 reason for cancellation. Don't be surprised when a large number of universities go to online only classes once all tuitions are paid and the students have gotten to the dorms.
High schools will close down and send all the kids home at the threat of tornadoes, knowing full well that many of those children are going home to poorly constructed homes or mobile homes.
At the very least, they should give the kids the option of staying at a typically sturdy built building or go home.
But they don't want that liability. Closing schools, a kid goes back to his trailer park home and gets killed in an afternoon tornado, all the high school system is out is maybe a sympathy letter to the family and maybe bring in a couple of "grievance counselors" for a day or two.
But, don't close the school, tornado hits the high school and a kid dies when a wall collapses and the schools system will be burdened with a multi million dollar lawsuit on their hands.
It's the same with the football players. The schools and conferences that cancel the season are just washing their hands of any potential liability.
Let Joe Q Quarterback get hospitalized due to Covid in the middle of the season and the backlash will be enormous from the press and the potential lawsuit.
Let him get hospitalized when the season is cancelled while he is "own his on", meh? no big deal.

Nebraska is the only one that voted to play. The presidents of the others all voted to postpone. What you’re saying is factually incorrect.

How do you prove liability? Football players live together, go to class together, party together.. Attributing it to football is an asinine argument when everybody is at risk at any given time. If they are willing to sign a waiver and want to play, they should play. Period.

It won't be hard. Or at least in the eyes of the jurors.
All you have to say is that player so and so practiced X amount with the team, was "forced" to travel to an away game, was in "close contact" with other players, blah blah. They'll always downplay any other activities, like going to parties, the athlete may have done.
I doubt a waiver to play will hold up.
Further, the new buzzword is "Long term effects", so we may hear about this for a while.

I thought only Nebraska and Iowa voted yes to play the season?

Meh, I’m having a hard time believing he’s simply a puppet. Not with these huge schools like Michigan, OSU, and Penn St and their communities irate about cancelling the season.

Remind me when a parent can pull a kid from a college team?

That’s the best kind of puppet. You point at him and let the institutions deflect. Roger Goodell is great at it.

A lot of people in here claiming Ohio State voted to postpone are wrong. The school confirmed they voted to delay until the end of September (same schedule as SEC).

I'm guessing he considers his son as an adult and can make his own decisions.

It almost as if his son is over 18 and has full control over his life.
