i would be shouting this from the rafter if my only bcs win in the last nine years was against an unranked uconn team

A&M will compete,Sumlin was a fantastic hire.

Mizz & WVU both will play tougher schedules and likely take some lumps. I don't know the Tiger's roster that well but the Mountaineers will enter 2012 with a top 5 offense and an unknown D.

This conference stuff is far from done blowin up,with playoff money on the horizon who knows what may still happen.

I'm an A&M fan, I have the Cincy logo because of the tourney. Cincy and Louisville would be pretty solid additions to the Big 12 though

That's sports man. Teams go through high and low points. Can't tell what team you root for, but I'll take my school's history over pretty much any other school. And we'll be Top 5 to start this season, so I can't complain right now.

this thread is an abomination - I assume most of the people posting in it are at least technically adults but it reads like one set of squawking infants after another

Obviously WVU and TCU were not high priorities for the Big 12 - if they were then they would have been asked to join before A&M and MU left. Obviously MU and A&M are not great programs but attempts to pile on them for having the gall to make a choice that was in their own best interest is just incredibly childish and hard to read. Having defended some MU and A&M fans I am off to shower, GL to the jerks and malcontents still posting and GL to the OU fans stuck in Texas' conference

You are comparing two of the 3 worst Big 12 programs to a couple programs that you say are "middle to bottom tier" but have both recently won championships in the Big East.

Pitt and Uconn are bottom tier, them winning last year was a fluke in the big picture of things

Also your recruiting classes the last two years have been in the mid 40's, behind schools like Tech, Baylor and Oklahoma State.

if you think they have more talent then us thats far fetched everyone knows these rankings are flawed b/c each site is different ie scout has us in the top 25 rivals has us around 40

but to think there won't be some sort of adjustment is ridiculous

i never said there won't be but we wont become some mediocre football school like this guy keeps saying, we are already in a better position that the school we replaced

Since Miami and Va Tech left Pitt has won one less conference championship than West Virginia.

Oklahoma State has more talent than you. The rest maybe not, but now when you're starting to get in those discussions you see where it's headed.

I just think it will take some time before you are in the discussion for conference championships. The coaching situation seems to be right which is a big step though.

last year for sure this year id give us the edge b/c they lost almost everyone and we bring back a loaded team

thats why i think the learning curve wont be to bad for WVU or TCU

I forgot 2010 was shared, my bad. Oklahoma State has picked up recruiting big time and has some of the nicest facilities in the Big 12 now. They aren't going anywhere. Their likely new starting QB JW Walsh was highly recruited. They will take a step back but I'd be surprised if they win less than 9 games.

The coaching situations for both schools is a huge plus though
