so far behind, that with that shitty coaching staff A&M built up a big lead but blew it on a good Arkansas team last year.

And Oklahoma State, and Missouri, and Texas, and Kansas State.

Or were you just trying to single out Arkansas and forgot that A&M blew 1st half leads to nearly every team on their schedule? Herp derp.

man city currently getting beat 2-1 by united may have something to do with that.

i just don't really ever see missouri as a real threat to win whatever conference they may be in. i realize that they did have some success in the big 12 north, but lets be honest, the big 12 north blew.

the word proven is being thrown around very loosely in this thread.

It's a strong conference from top to bottom. It's strength is in its depth. And if the Big 12 is not a good conference, you're essentially arguing there is only one good conference.

I'm going to put the numbers of teams in 2 conferences side by side. You tell me who is stronger:

Oregon (11-1) -------------- Kansas State (11-1)
Stanford (11-2) -------------- Oklahoma (10-2)
Oregon St. (9-3) -------------- Texas (8-4)
#16 team (9-4) -------------- Oklahoma St. (7-5)
Arizona (7-5) --------------- TCU (7-5)
USC (7-5) --------------- West Virginia (7-5)
Washington (7-5) --------------- Baylor (7-5)
Arizona St. (7-5) --------------- Texas Tech (7-5)
Utah (5-7) --------------- Iowa St. (6-6)
Cal (3-9) --------------- Kansas (1-11)
Washington St. (3-9)
Colorado (1-11)

You said Mizzou would suck no matter what conference they were in and it has been proven that they were quite successful in Big 12. Was that not "proven"? Just show me when they only won 1 conf game in Big 12.

*sigh*

I think the SEC is stronger. That still means I can believe there are other strong conferences other than the SEC.

And the records are a bit misleading based on the round robin nature of Big 12 scheduling. It's impossible for them to have six 10 win teams like the SEC.

Since I never tire of pointing this out: Last year Alabama beat a total of 3 teams with a winning record. 5 of their 8 SEC opponents were 6-6 or worse. This year them and UGA only played 2 of the 6 10 win teams, the others played 3 or 4. Wonder if that had an impact on who played on Atlanta? The SEC is the best conference it total, but we don't play everybody.

missouri never won a big 12 title. missouri will never win an SEC title. they won the big 12 north three times. i don't see that as an accomplishment worth noting.

just like a&m isn't the team they were while they were in the big 12, the same goes for missouri.

the chase daniel years were undoubtedly their best and IMO are permanently behind them.

The conference I listed in comparison to the Big 12 wasn't the SEC, in case there was any confusion.

In terms of conference strength, it goes like this:

1. SEC

2. PAC 12

3. B1G (if you include Ohio State)
4. Big 12

5. ACC

2nd half leads.

The biggest change this year has been the results of Larry Jackson's merciless training regimen.
