I'd be curious to know which bench Phil Jackson would be on.

2012-2013 Heat vs Current Warriors

Imagine Wade and LeBron taking on Durant, Curry, and Thompson. Bosh vs. Draymond also would have been a really fun matchup to watch.

2005/2007 Spurs vs. 2008 Celtics

It would have been great to watch KG go up against Duncan with a comparable supporting cast.

This did happen.

Olajuwon and the Rockets lost to the Celtics 4-2 in the1985-86 NBA Finals.

Now, Hakeem was only a second year player and not in his prime at that time.

The first thing that came to mind. It was either Sprite or Nike that ran those claymation commercials anticipating a Kobe v Lebron face off.

Easily the best answer. Would've been great seeing Mamba make Lebron look like a fool.

Too bad he wasn't mentally tough enough to make it past this guy:

Steve Mash and Dominique Williams

But seriously though, Kobe ended his run RIGHT before Lebron started dominating. Almost kind similar to Kobe and MJ.

Kobe vs Lebron would've been fantastic. I agree with whoever said the 2005 or 07 spurs vs the 08 Celtics. 09 or 10 should've been Kobe vs Lebron. Especially 09. I think the 09 Magic may be the worst Finals team ever. The 2010 Celtics were pretty good, but Lebron should've made the Finals both years.

That was the plan in 2011. But the Mavs killed that buzz when they swept the Lakeshow in the second round.

Looking back at those Cleveland rosters before Lebron left for Miami they were straight shite. If you think of the the contending teams now you can't blame him for leaving them after his contract was over.

Finally someone gets it. LeBron taking heat for not getting there in 2009/2010, while Kobe gets a pass for being swept by Dallas.

Does 1991 count, or was "Showtime" dead by that point?

No one actually following the NBA that season expected the 2011 Lakers to go to the Finals. Gasol was done, Odom was flaked out and injured (only played 35 games), Bynum had mentally checked out of the NBA and was injured half the season, and Derek Fisher just kinda stood there most games. They had no defense all season.

It obviously wouldn't count. Kareem had retired, Magic was on his way out, and James Worthy was injured in that series (and didn't play most of it).

It was basically an old Magic versus a prime Bulls team and it still went 6 games.
