I've always been a fan of Upper Deck

I think I bought the whole set to get this card. One of my favs.

This one was good.

I recently bought a couple of boxes of '91 Stadium Club(for $4 each ).

While there are some nice looking cards, lots of them are crappy or plain photos with 3/4" of gloss over the top of them.

Looking around the card "landscape" at that time, there was always a nicer product out, in damn near every sport. It's pretty remarkable that Topps managed to come out on top (for the most part, twenty years later.)

1991 Pro Set Platinum was damn nice, for example.

Stadium Club really hit stride in the late 90's, though, IMO.

'92 Topps, '93 Topps

The pinnacle of my collecting. I didn't need all that upperdeck, fleer, donruss bullshite.

Even today in occassion I'll throw in a pack of Topps baseball cards when at the checkout line. And I still get a little rush as I'm opening up the pack and seeing who all I got!

My favorite ever was the original Leaf series. I guess that was like 89 or 90.

90'

that set was awesome and had a lot of high value cards in the mid 90s. Frank Thomas and Sosa rookie cards were the big ones

Sosa laying down a bunt. How ironic.

1989 Upper Deck took the sports card industry to another level.

I think the Stadium Club set looked the best IMO, though.
