Best athlete in high school or turned out the best? Josh Beckett was the best player in high school but also played baseball against Drew Brees but he turned out better in a different sport.

Will Clark

He kicked our arse in Metro, 11-AAAA (Catholic League), and American Legion year after year. Easily the purest hitter I have seen. Pretty sure he batted somewhere around .700 his senior season.

Keith Woodside from Vidalia and Nathaniel Williams at Ferriday. Both outstanding running backs. Woodside went to TA&M. Williams played college ball too. But I played basketball against them. Williams was faster than greased lightning

Freshman Year, we Played Eli Manning and his Newman team. Got beat so bad, I actually played in the 4th qtr.

Senior Year, we played and ended Glen Big Baby Davis's Football Season in the playoffs against UHigh. Granted he went on to play basketball in college.

Yup, they played for AFC Lightning in Fayetteville. Mathis drove from Conyers to Fayetteville for training.

That program has gone WAY down recently. NASA, SSA, and UFA are all much bigger clubs in metro Atlanta.

best i ever saw in person was randy livingston. best player i was ever on the court with was rogers washington from hanson. didn't do much at lsu but in high school he was outstanding. willie davis from port barre is one of the greats that never was. he played varsity as a 7th and 8th grader and being well on his way to greatness but ran into some trouble in high school and it all fell apart. he would have been on livingstons level if he could have kept it all together.

I only saw highlights of this dude but there was a reason 35-50 coaches came to Philadelphia Miss. back in 1982. Marcuss Dupree was Barry Sanders like in high school. It was like “did he just do that”?????? A BEAST.....

There's my answer. If you take his (I think) 5 touchdown runs of 50+ yards we held him to about 150.

yeah i played against afc many a time and they definitely started to decline a bit when i got older in the late aughts.

i played on the united quest, silverbacks, nasa track which is all the same club through a few mergers. sounds like you might already know that, though.

1.) Ben McDonald (played against—never saw the ball)
2.) Tom Curry (McDonald's All-American center, Redemptorist) (watched) Don’t know what happened to him.
3.) Carlos Sample (played baseball with, but he was a basketball phenom at Southern)
4.) Fess Irvin (watched)

Jeremy Bleich from Newman. Dude was a lefty throwing low to mid 90s

I quit the team freshman year 2 days in when I went against him in the batting cages.

Baseball was never my sport, but he hammered that fact home for me.
