Clearly he didn’t watch one second of the game. Or else he’d know that until ISU quit on themselves the last 5 minutes of the game, ULL was objectively good on 3 plays all day.

And two of them were on special teams.

Now THIS is the true “Purple Cajun Hater” post that I was looking for.

All conference winners plus a few wildcards fixes that but the P5s are too damn greedy for the rational approach to be taken. Every single other level of football does it that way. There is no legitimate reason FBS can't do it too.

Ditto. I think they should also do away with all bowl games. All teams in Div. 1 should be playing to make the playoffs at the end of the season to win the National Championship game. If every other sport in NCAA college sports can have an all inclusive playoff system (baseball, basketball, softball,.....), plus Div II and Div. III college football can, then why can't Div. I.

NCAA states it is worried about the players health, but if you did away with the 40+ bowl games and only had a true playoff system, then you would eliminate 60 plus college teams from risking further injury when their season ended.

This year would be a great year to try it, since so many conferences have opted out of playing football this year.

While I posted this thread simply to get a rile out of some who take this shite way too seriously, many of us suffer from Cajun Disaster Syndrome. I keep worrying we'll piss this all away with a loss to GA State this weekend.

I understand what you are saying and agree to a certain extent but it's not like the pros.

There are usually only a small handful of teams that have a legitimate chance at winning the championship and adding more teams just waters it down IMO.

This is true if you are thinking of today's teams in today's system, but 5 years down the road, if there was a true playoff system, every team would have a legit chance to win.

Stud players who want to win a national championship today go where they would have the opportunity to win a national championship, BUT if that same stud player knew he could go to his local college, where all his friends and family could come every week to watch him and see him after the game, knew he would have the same opportunity to play for a national championship, would probably choose the local college over the other school so far away.

After 5-7 years of a true playoff system, there would not be P5 school and G5 schools, only Div I schools again. This is why P5 schools would never agree to a true playoff system. They would be scared to see the reality if this ever happened.

And if they are not scared, then why not have a true all inclusive playoff system?

What is even weirder is that I find myself more worried, or at least as worried, about Arky this year rather than App. And we pay Arky at home.
Just hope that us breaking the jinx of home field advantage last year does not get repeated this year.

Sure you can. But it's hilarious when a person uses a school's football team as some type of intellectual superiority complex over someone else especially when that person probably doesn't know basic arithmetic.

You think welders don't know arithmetic? Also, what does football have to do with intellectual superiority? The arguments on here are mostly to do with the comparison of athletic superiority between the two schools, not the degree rankings.

Just to be clear, I think sidewalk or wal mart fan comments are asinine, no matter which fan base makes them. People go to different colleges due to majors offered. Others choose trades that are more financially viable than college degrees, does not mean they can not root for a particular school or football team.

Well, for the most part I agree with you. Nothing wrong with fans who have no degree from any school pulling for a certain school.
But what I think is even worse than asinine are people who are grads of one school, that pull exclusively for another one.
"dance with the one who brung you."

I respectfully disagree. I graduated from Mcneese. I began watching LSU football as well as USL (at the time) football with my dad, who was a welder lol, in 1979 when I was 7 years old. I attended Mcneese football games, and I root for them, but I have no nostalgic connection to them. I would root for them to play well against LSU, but I would still root for LSU. I never saw Mcneese, USL, Northeastern, Northwestern as competitors to LSU. I rooted for all Louisiana Schools.

And then you are the reason why schools like your alma mater are dying on the vine. In order for them (and all schools) to thrive, they need the support from their alumnus.
So we will agree to disagree.

No.

What I find funny is that the contingent of LSU fans who hate the Cajuns seems to fall into two categories:

1.) Blue collar Acadiana folk who never went to college and think of LSU as a pro team they are a fan of.
2.) Graduates of other small schools don’t don’t actually root or support their alma mater.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!!! Especially #2

And this whole thing about not being competitors to lsu. So wrong, on so many different levels, then when someone says that it actually takes my breath away.
