Why not just go for it? Throw in the end zone at least?

I honestly don’t understand how the thought of punting the ball there enters someone’s mind

Lane Kiffins analytics team would definitely not approve.

Aranda says decision to punt at the UT 30 was a result of weighing their best chances to kick a FG vs. their chances of pinning UT'S offense down. It was a gut call by him to win field position, because it was feeling like that type of game.

Now just imagine how the kicker feels...he must really suck.

If I were a player, I’d be pissed at that call.

Literally telling the offensive players you have zero confidence in their ability to move the ball, and the defense that you don’t trust them to handle a team at their own 30.

It’s easy to tell which head coaches used to be Offensive Coordinators and which ones used to be Defensive Coordinators.

That has to be a fireable offense

Dont forget telling your kicker he sucks too

Aranda basically told his entire team I think you suck by punting there

Didn’t they say the kicker was struggling in warm ups? I know he had already nailed one. I would’ve just gone for it.

Any time a coach admits he made a "gut" decision, that's grounds for an immediate firing.
