With the game in hand, Thunder forward Darius Bazley stole an inbounds pass with three seconds to play. After Bazley dunked the ball, Lakers guard Russell Westbrook made it clear he didn't like Bazley showing up the Lakers. Westbrook received a second technical foul and was ejected for going after Bazley following the play.

Postgame, Westbrook said, “It is what it is. I don’t think I should have gotten the first tech … If the last one was a tech, that’s cool. But, just how I play the game — I’m old school. When shite like that happens, I don’t let it slide. I’ll take it on the chin and move on.”

The former Thunder guard added, “But in the game of basketball, there’s just certain things you don’t do. Like in baseball, you don’t flip the bat. There’s certain things you just don’t do in sports. Game’s already over. And I didn’t like it, simple as that.”

Loser mentality. Play defense and stop the opposing team from doing those things.

fricking awful take. You absolutely flip the bat if you want to.

Key phrase here is "I didn't like it..." No one gives a frick when you turn the ball over 10 times and blow a 26 point lead.

How about don’t blow a fricking 26 point lead and you don’t have to worry about things like this, Russ

I love that he is the enforcer of unwritten rules after THAT game. What a clown

Westbrook is the rare player who I didn’t like before he came to my team and then I managed to like him even less after he was on my team

I initially hated the move, much preferring the Hield trade, then tried to talk myself into Westbrook thinking it would help Lebron rest and that Lebron + AD (healthy) would be good enough to make whatever work.

I saw the score at the half last night during the Barves game and thought alright this is exactly why they brought Westbrook in and this team will be able to keep its head above water when Lebron and/or AD sits (unlike last season). Holy fricking shite when I got home and saw they lost and Russ had 10 turnovers

Boy, that Westbrook/Rondo backcourt is something else

actually he said you shouldn't dunk if you steal it with 3 seconds left and the game already decided

i hate when people leave key info out the headline just to make stuff sound worse than it was. Westbrook isn't the only one who has ever took an issue with a team dunking after they had already won.

i don't agree with him getting upset but whatever, it's his take and it definitely is different than just saying whenever you steal the ball you shouldn't dunk

that happens in every sport all the time. people don't like getting shown up in garbage time. just the other day people were mad that Mike Stoops called a timeout to score a TD losing to Georgia 30-7 with 3 seconds left

He should still be ridiculed. No one tried to stop Bazley and he wanted to put a stamp on their first win of the season and he had every right to do so.

LINK from 2017 about Steve Kerr apologizing to Carlisle for a player dunking late in the game.

sorry but it aint just westbrook that has this issue.

But go ahead and enjoy ur 24 hours of outrage til something else happens.

None of this shite matters to anyone that doesn't watch stephen A

This may be the most enjoyable season of nba.

That sideshow in LA with both Lebron and Russ whining all year and sucking arse at the same time is going to be glorious
