What's funny is how people think that just because NYG passed on a QB, they'll be doomed forever.

Other than the Dave Brown years, the Giants haven't had a difficult time finding a serviceable QB in most of our lifetimes.

With those weapons, good QBs would jump at the chance.

i don't think anyone has implied that

we're talking about one decision where they made a hugely incorrect decision

List some that you think will (a) hit FA and (b) be good.
All these good FA QBs lining up to play for the Giants...

And you can't do anything more than list the QBs that are scheduled for free agency.

What is so as of now is irrelevant.

You think "Pretty much every good QB is going to be an UFA in the next three years???"

That's exactly what you implied.

If Barkley has 15k scrimmage yards and the Giants have even a serviceable QB in 8-10 years, nobody will claim that the pick was a mistake.

The problem with a FA qb though is you gotta pay them top dollar, which restricts money spent on other positions.

If you nail a qb in the draft, you can spend on other positions, at least for the first few years.

favre was old as frick

brees/manning had severe injury concerns (and manning was old as frick)

warner? fluke season. he sucked arse

sp yes, old as frick QBs or ones with severe injuries may be a possibility to replace old as frick Eli

nope

i said it was a terrible decision

teams can make terrible decisions and still win titles. hell the saints even drafted a "generational RB" #2 who was bust-like and won a title a couple years later

Warner was “too 12” good his last two maybe three years in Arizona

His last playoff loss he put up 40 some points

when warner signed with Arizona he was coming off a season of 2k yards, 6 TDs, and 4 INT. he was utterly terrible the 2 prior years

he was not a top 12 QB

Giants went all in on manning

They now have

Odell best receiver, top 5 anyway

Barkley a top rb. Top 10 anyway

Manning.

Barkley is a sure thing until he is beat up.

Darnold threw a terrible pass that was int. He did that in college. Maybe he throws ints in close games vs the best, in playoffs.

Lets See How this plays out.

I'm not convinced yet that the rb choice was wrong.

If giants can get to one more super bowl with Eli, the rb was correct pick.

Edited to deal with unsolicited spellcheckery

Is that really the case? He’s had one good game with one good run, the rest of the game he averaged 2.3 ypc. I don’t know the quality of the NYG OL, but given the lack of recent production that could be a limiting factor. He wouldn’t be the first top 10 RB pick to flame out or fail to live up to expectations.
