Celia Cruz is white?
No. because he has clear African ancestory and blood

“Hispanic” is just like being Anglo in terms of name. Is Will Smith white because he has an English name? Of course not, but being actually English means you are white correct?. But lure Hispanics are absolutely white if they don’t have Africans in their blood line, just the same as Irish, Italians, etc etc

But a full blooded Puerto Rican or Cuban is absolutely white. Hispanic isn’t a race, it got popular as a way to make sure only certain whites got to the country club

And this particular character looks exactly like a guido Italian. Which funny enough weren’t considered “country club white” either until recently

Vs

Both white. Neither getting into Baton Rouge Country Club in 1962

Define full blooded. Because the only difference between Bad Bunny and Celia Cruz is that BB's African ancestry goes back a few generations further...

Are Puerto Rico and Italy the same thing to you?

Go look at a photo of BB's abuelo and Celia Cruz next to one another and get back to me.

In terms of being closer to “non white” pretty similar, with Italians being stronger linked to African ancestory….

I can only find his abuela

That's a bummer. How would you characterize Roberto Clemente?

I feel like some people on this board don't know that Puerto Ricans are US citizens.

Black. His mother’s last name was Walker and she was clearly African ancestry. She wasn’t even Hispanic

Some Hispanics can be black

Just like some people who have Irish last names (which makes them Irish)can be black

Right. Born in Luiza. Daughter to a Vazquez and Ceballos-Walker but not Hispanic. Got it...

What exactly are you confused about right now? Hispanic isn’t a race, it’s an ethnicity. An ethnicity that is white. If you are 100% Hispanic you are white just like if you are 100% Irish you are white

If you are part Irish and part African you are black: Mariah Carey

Just like if you are part Hispanic and African you are black : Roberto Clemente

I take issue with this. There's no way you can look at BB and say he's 100% white. That's almost universally true of any Puerto Rican that isn't a jibaro from the mountains, and even they mixed with the Tainos more than the Africans.

Ethnicity is more cultural than genetic, IMO.

Right. Which is why no one excludes the DR when talking about Hispanic Heritage Month.

people do understand that Halftime Shows are not meant to entertain the average NFL fan who will watch the game anyway. They are there to try to hook in audiences that are less likely to watch the game namely women and minorities.
