Seems like a win-win to me but that may be an overly simplistic view.

Complete bullshite they can do that

Wouldn't be any different than the Braves DFAing Chirinos, McHugh, and Sam Hilliard, for instance. Angels aren't going to get anything in return other than not having to pay them the rest of the season if someone claims them.

I like Hunter Renfroe, but no room for him on the Braves roster.

Saw a tweet where if 2 of them get claimed then it lowers their Lux tax tier, meaning they’d get 2nd round pick if Ohtani leaves instead of a 4th round pick.

Basically, the Angels had to do this.

I think the only team he leaves the Angels for is the Dodgers.

By all accounts, he’s staying in LA and really loves being an Angel

The White Sox have placed started Mike Clevinger on waivers, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. This is one of several moves today as players with notable salaries are being placed on waivers by clubs out of contention, trying to dump some salary by having a contending club put in a claim.

This is the best of the bunch IMO. I watched Clev pitch for years, and the kid can pitch. There is zero chance he makes it all of the way to the Braves. He will get picked up by someone, like Tampa Bay or the Dodgers who just lost Gonsolin.

The Mets also cut Carlos Carrasco, who I also watched pitch for years, and I would not pick him up right now. He has been struggling for years.

One of the worst run orgs in pro sports. Not trading Ohtani was legit retarded.

I don't disagree, but Moreno was in a damned-if-you-do damned-if-you-don't situation. Trade Ohtani, piss off and likely alienate your fanbase, don't trade him, have what has happened happen and you get no compensation for losing him.

I really hope we don’t get Philly in the NLDS. They are clicking on all cylinders now with Harper back and Turner finally getting his shite together.

Considering what happened last year, they are the only team that won’t be afraid of us in the NLDS. Really need the Cubs or DBacks to take them out in a best of three.

The Braves have seven games left against the Phils.

Yes they do… still want no part of them in the playoffs, even if we go 7-0 in that stretch.

We dominated them in the regular season last year too.

If this hasn't happened already, it won't. He's one of the worst owners in sports. Way, way, way, way too meddlesome.

They wouldn't get a Braves team who burned themselves out chasing down a division lead this year, and they also (hopefully) will see a healthy pitching staff.

That team was fried last year. Very reminiscent of 1993.

I mean maybe, but they are clearly the best team we can possibly face in the NLDS.

They are pretty clearly the third best team in the NL
