It was a nice play but Harris shouldn’t have swung at that ball in the dirt.

As a matter of fact it will probably be 6 up and 6 down over the last 2 innings

Bad loss, maybe the worst of the season

Nah, blowing a 5-0 lead after 6 can’t be chalked up to “That’s baseball” with the way they’ve been playing lately

Team has let clubhouse leaders go each of the last three offseasons (Freddie, Dansby, Wash/EY) and we’re beginning to see the effect of that.

Someone needs to take charge and tell this team to stop being bitches.

Harris always swings at balls in the dirt. If I were a pitcher, I would never throw him a strike. He gets HIMSELF out more than anybody on the team

Starting to think this is just who they are this season. I don't believe in the "back of the baseball card" bullshite because a lot of things can change from year to year.

Opposing teams are starting to figure this out. Harris has a very bad Javy Baez problem right now.

It’s becoming a worrisome thought considering this was likely our best chance to make a run with the Sale trade and Fried walking after this year.

I have no idea what happened. Was up 5, went to lunch and came back and we lost. Jesus.

Get ready to hear about 4 months worth of excuses coming from the brass about why we suck like we do. Going to be a long summer. I don't know if we can even win a Wild Card spot with this listless bunch

It's the beat writers, analysts, and radio hosts like Matt Chernoff who refuse to acknowledge reality and still think this is some amazing team. They have played like shite for a month and the people covering the team completely ignore this.

Leaving 12 runners on base is what happened.

Yet none in the 8th or 9th after they fell behind, they couldn't even get a runner on TO LEAVE

Meanwhile, the team that has beat our brains in both physically and mentally the last two postseasons added after the first year (Turner), then re-signed two of the key pieces to their team (Wheeler/Nola) this past offseason. And the braves will let Max Fried walk in a few months.

We have one hitter in the top 30 in WAR on Fangraphs right now. Going into the season we expected 4 or 5 guys to be on that list.

Wow I really haven't posted in these threads in a few years. It's May everyone calm your tits.

Acuna, Albies, Riley, Olsen and Harris didn't all become worthless baseball players. We're 9 over .500 before memorial day with our offense being Marcel Ozuna

The brass only cares about filling up Truist and keeping the Battery packed. Now that you mention it, it's interesting that since the move to Cobb, the Braves have had only one bad season (2017), and attendance was good because of the "newness" of the complex. Will be interesting to see what would happen if we get another early exit slump (i.e. 2002-05) or dumpster fire (2006-09, 2014-16).

It's also likely that the majority of the lineup had career years last year and regression was inevitable. I mean take Murphy for example... the dude lit it up at the plate in the first half and was abysmal from July on. Arcia takes awful ABs (earned his SIXTH walk in ~170 PAs). Harris swings at everything and either strikes out or grounds out.

So you're telling us that our eyes are playing tricks on us or something? They're all significantly worse than they were a year ago. I don't do the "back of the baseball card" nonsense. There are too many instances of guys falling off a cliff out of nowhere or becoming really good out of nowhere for me to believe in that.

What guys did last year has no bearing on what they're going to do this year. The concerns with Harris are especially real. Unless his pitch recognition improves significantly, his better days at the plate are probably already behind him. Teams have started to figure out that they never have to throw him strikes because he chases everything. If he fixes this problem, he has the talent to win an MVP one day. If he doesn't fix this issue, he is Jeff Francoeur.
