His 1996 season was a great one. 40 HR, 130 RBI and a .326 average.

So what, a lot of MLB Hall of Famers are sitting in Cooperstown as cheaters.

The teams can honor whoever they want and the steroid era was just a footnote in baseball history.

Cooperstown can snub their noses at whoever they want and I don't care what anyone says, Barry Bonds and Pete Rose are hall of famers.

Ken did it all. Crack, steroids, opiates, cocaine, heroin, alcohol, women.

I went after a game to collect autographs once at the Astrodome and watch Caminiti leave in his jacked-up truck. He looked the part.

He was the source for many who became steroid users for a few teams. I know there were Astros players that became gym rats during his time and later with Clemens, and I'll leave it at that.

I'll go ahead and mention Luis Gonzalez as one.

Didn't juice as an Astro though--never cracked more than 15 HRs with the Astros

I wonder what percentage of NFL Hall of Famers were juicing?
Probably more then baseball.

There is zero doubt that Ken Caminiti would have been MAGA AF alongside Johnny Damon. RIP, swaggy baw.

Always enjoyed, appreciated when he received a ground ball at 3rd, took it out of his glove, counted the stitches, and then shot it out of his cannon to nip the runner at 1st

Go back and look at some his plays in the early 90s

Dude had a canon.

Was in the Dome as a very young kid when he made his debut. I think it was in '87 or '88. And yes, he had an absolute cannon at third.

and cheated but that's a given considering you have to be a cheater to have any kind of standing in the Astros organization

Cam Caminiti is his cousin or nephew. Ken had three daughters and no sons.

It makes me laugh. The NFL has 250-260lb guys running 4.6 40s and not a single sports reporter bats an eye. You let one Dominican shortstop piss hot and every sports commentator gets a case of the Aunt Pittypat vapors and starts caterwauling about the sad state of baseball.

There is most definitely a double standard. Same for NBA…
