I really hate to hate on kids baseball. But damn, LL baseball has got to be the worst product of 12 yr old baseball. Not playing 60/90 at 12 is crazy to me. We were playing 60/90 at 10. I know some mlb players have come from LL but it’s such a bad product.

Chokelahoma, all they had to do was throw the ball over the plate and no way Ascension scores enough to tie or win. Was hard to watch that last inning.

Ol’ boy and his bat flip, flashing gang signs rounding the bases, jumping on home plate while his teammates fall to the ground…

Karma got him in the bottom of the 6th. He got rocked.

I blame the douchebag coach for allowing that from 12 year olds.

Not even major level travel ball plays 60/90 until 13s and not all 13s play 60/90

while you are right LL is a bad product its not because of 60/90. in general for 99%+ of kids 60/90 doesnt happen until 13. In travel mainly only 13u majors teams play 60/90 and no 12u teams play 60/90 and neither did you.

now the closed bases thing at 12 and the 46/60 distances is nuts to me.

imo with the mounds being movable and the turf fields with multiple base slots, fields should be the following

46/60 @ 9u
46/65 @10u
50/70 @11u
54/80 @12u
60/90@13u

Looked at the bracket and it's at noon on ESPN. Crazy to play at noon, Waco has been well over a 100 degrees for the last week and a half with no end in site.

I don't understand why so many people this day in age want kids playing at pro league dimension when they are 10 or 12 years old. It's stupid.
Worst is basketball for a 10 year old being played on 10' goals. nothing like teaching a kid to throw a basketball instead of shooting it and having games that are 10-6 b/c hardly anyone can even make a layup.

11 year old don't need to be playing with 90' bases. that's just silly. 13 is when most kids start hitting puberty or have by then and start developing actual muscles, and can actually hit a ball hard. you put 90' bases and most kids won't hit it out of the infield on most at bats. Notice i said most, not all.

You dont' see 5th and 6th graders playing with nfl footballs. you don't see 5th and 6th graders playing on full regulation soccer fields. basketball courts get bigger after junior high, then high school, then college, and then the nba.

we don't need to rush to make 11 and 12 year olds play at the professional level. it's not going to help them become professional athletes, i promise.

Did you also have to walk 5 miles up hill in the snow to get to the fields?

you are right but nobody else plays closed bases 46/60 at 12. that is dumb

should be open bases at 10 at the latest and shortest field dimensions should be 46/65.

at frickign 12...should be able to steal and should be alot bigger than 46/60. thats frickign coach pitch dimensions.

You weren’t playing 60/90 at 10 or 11.

I’m not sure you don’t want that means. It’s the length of the baselines and the mound to home plate. 10&11’s physically cannot make any of these throws

that game had a similar feeling to the McNeese v. Washington softball regional. UW had 1 hit thru 6 innings and McNeese had their ace on the bump. McN was dominating every aspect and winning 6-0 when Mother Nature (rain) changed the momentum. Only needing 3 outs to advance to the Supers, McNeese shite in the bed in the T7 - giving up 7 runs. Oklahoma LL probably felt the same way
