Trosclair said the disagreement came after the administration had forced him earlier in the football season to sign a contract promising not to run up the score on other teams and to try to keep games within 14 points

My freshmen year of HS we had 210 students total. I doubt the football team had 35 players, but that would have included freshmen and Sophs from Jv that never played. At least half the team played both ways all game.

I mean you are talking classes of 50-60 so 30 boys and 6-8 played football. It doesn’t seem like many but in reality that’s an incredibly high percentage.

This was a Catholic school in Kansas.

There has to be more to this

Principal Sandy Pizzolato is the answer you're looking for.

I was part of the 1991 walk out at Woodlawn for Coach Kenny Almond. He was/is one of the best basketball coaches in the state and was being fired for undisclosed reasons. The entire school planned a walkout to the stadium one morning. It Came to light that our AD Mike Moock simply didn't get along with Almond.
The teachers supported the walkout and let us go to the stadium. It worked.

TLDR If the AD or principal doesn't like a coach, they gone, unless the entire student body and faculty stand up to them and for the coach/teacher.

I suspect there is a hell of a lot more to this story and that we are only hearing one side of it. As we all know, there are three sides to every story

Some schools just don’t deserve to win, and do that which submarines their chances of winning, like firing a coach who brought you to prominence because he wouldn’t ease up on competition in games.. Apparently, Ascension Catholic is one of those teams that just deserve to lose. Let them rot.

I’ve heard he’s got a list of infractions a mile long that the administration has swept under the rug due to wining football and I’ve heard rumors of him partying with his players including partying in NOLA after the game.

All rumors, none substantiated, but they make a lot more sense to me that this is what he’d be fired over as opposed to argument over field passes

Lafayette Christian is moving up to 2A so I guess their new rival will be Vermillion Catholic.

Well, classes are usually determined based on the school's enrollment size. So other 1a schools are probably similar.

I've heard that he was already interviewed for an had an agreement to move to another school. A 4A Catholic School in Thibodeaux...

Also heard unsubstantiated rumors of a relationship with a recent grad that raised some eyebrows.

My son plays for AC. Two sides to every story and the article didn't even come close to covering it all. Drey is a good kid with a very bright future in Coaching but at the end of the day, we all have to listen to our boss no matter how much we dislike him/her or disagree with him/her. If you don't, you run the risk of getting fired.

AC typically has around 150-170 kids enrolled in High School and dresses out 35-45 Football Players on average.

If true, the school needs to be truthful on why they forced his resignation. Because right now, they look like complete fools.
