And everybody chose to dress up as empty seats. 10,042 in attendance today to see the Rays beat the Twins. That's terrible.

Probably one of the most pleasant places to watch a game too. I enjoyed seeing a game there more than new yankee stadium. Outside of it being in St. Petersburgh and not Tampa I don't get why people don't go.

There were 14,351 yesterday at the Braves game, and 13,865 on Tuesday. Midweek games when school is still going on leads to lots of small crowds.

I'm going to the Nationals/Brewers game tomorrow night in DC. Shouldn't have a problem finding a decent seat.

ETA: Watching the highlights from the Nationals game tonight. Looks like a pretty good crowd.

define "pleasant". The trop sucks. traffic sucks. people in St. Pete don't really care about baseball. This thread will probably show up another 20+ times throughout the year.

I still have no idea why the management of the Rays hasn't packed up and headed to a somewhat greener pasture. It's unbelievable how little support that the community gives that team.

It is the mgnt's fault for playing in that stadium to start with. I've seen quite a few games there and it sucks imo. As others have pointed out, it isn't close to downtown Tampa. Unlike the Lighting who pull from Orlando, the Rays are another 30-60 drive from Orlando.

The only thing that might save them is a new ballpark closer to downtown.

What ever happened to the new stadium they were planning on building? Looked pretty damn epic.

Why does MLB hold midweek games during the day? Those games should be in the evening IMO if they want better attendance. Plus they play too many damned games anyway! Sorry....end of my rant.
